Have you heard anything over the last couple of years that made you say to yourself 'ok son, pull your finger out and become better at what you do'

A couple that stand out for me were :-

DT8 - Hold me till the end

Deadmau5/Kaskade - I Remember

Both were walls of goose bumpy loveliness.

Yes. Well, actually anything from Kaskade leaves me wishing I had some talent. Particularly the Strobelight Seduction album.

Yes. Just about anything from Jaytech and Dinka give me equal measures of powerful inspiration and the extreme urge to question why I am bothering at all.

Jake Benson - I don't know if you guys have heard of him or not but I'm pretty sure this is the guy who scared the hell out of me back on BT Forums.

There are quite a few people here, including one I heard the other night, who have some chops I want and who also scare the hell out of me.

After listening through Chicane's album "Far from the maddening crowds", I always feel really inspired to go and focus heavily on music. In fact, just about anything from Chicane's early days gives me a great boost.

but when im wathcing them playing there own tracks watching everyone go CRAZY that makes me wanna work harder.. usualyl it works too.
just went to future music festival and watched mat zo, dubfire, above n beyond and just watching them made me wanna run home and make some music hahaha :D

how underrated is jaytech! easily the best australian producer! great dj as well! :)

i havn't really gotten this from trance for a long time... i get it from a lot of other types of music though, such as whitest boy alive, radiohead and UNKLE.. i guess people who really just blend styles stand out for me

I got "genesis" on a CDR in 2005 and just thought OH - that track still sounds too fresh.

But as a DJ, It's weird but I find him below the value of his productions. His sets kind of lack overall punch and drive for me - they ebb to much in to the fluffy proggy trance. I always with there was a bit more darkness and drive between the stunning tracks he plays.

I like the triple J shows as they mix it up a bit, his 2 or 3 hour sets just need to jack a bit more for me.
