sorry dude :(

Thanks for the condolences, everyone. It is tough seeing her go, she was so sweet. We left all our tears on her grave. She went peacefully, and now I'd like to think she's training all the best horses in the world up there :o

If he lived a good and happy life, that's what matters. Sounds like gizmo did.

Gizmo loved to train horses. When she lived with me and my gf and our other corgi, Rosemary, she was still happy and funny, but not where she wanted to be. She was pretty tough, she trained our great pyrennese/german shepard mix how to be a big dog, even though she wasn't. She was happy in her situation, she just lost her battle very quickly it seemed. Thanks, everybody, I didn't expect such a warm response.

It's most definitely not lame in the least. We are all animals.

Awww zip I'm sorry for your loss :(

Hah, this turned into a big sympathy thread like I wanted it not to! I'm sure most of you guys have lost pets and felt sad about it. By no means is this a "baww" thread, talk about your old pets and how they made you feel!

I grew up with a cat, her name was Tessa. She made it to about 16, which is pretty old for cats. I knew her health was failing for a bit, but I'd not heard of her condition for some time before one night, I had an extremely vivid dream that she had come to visit me before saying her final farewells - in my dream, she kind of dissipated into a happy, green cloud of youthful meows before disappearing into the sky. I woke up with my face streaming with tears I did not quite understand, and looking back, it was extremely odd that it came to absolutely no surprise to me later that day that she had been put to sleep. I felt nothing but placidity over the matter - like I'd had the most comfortable revelation that she was in a better place, or at least a different one.

I still have absolutely no explanation for it, and the more I try to reflect on it, the more questions I have. Now *that's* lame. :stongue:
