Pomeranians also come to mind. So very few of them actually survive birth - that just doesn't sound natural at all. |
the healthiest dog is one that is closest looking to a wolf.
Otherwise your basically undoing millions of years of natural selection of phenotypic traits in a matter of hundreds or even tens of years.
Obviously you're going to run into problems when the dog is half the size or has lame ears or is missing half its muzzle lol.
And then you get into dog shows where you further try to amplify those deformities. The pure breds and winners of those dog shows are usually the sickest and most unhealthy of thier "breed" |

Oh, oh, neither have I. But I'm afraid this intense inbreeding may lead to a flat-chested population of so-called models, and that's a shame :(
Oh, I'm really sceptic about that. Anorexic models often date other anorexic models, so they have anorexic modelettes and the cycle goes on.
I'm telling you, people thought Twiggy was a freak in the 70's, now we think she's all right. Something must be done, the gene pool is at stake! |
You're talking about a skinny human compared to a normal sized human.
I'm talking about a dog missing half its face or 3/4s of its legs or lame ears which deviates EXtremely from its currently existing ancestor.
anorexia is not a 100% genetic disorder. Sure there is some influence but when you speak of dog breeds this is 100% genetic. |

why do so many people call their dog gizmo.
You are definitely not lame for being attached to a pet....I love my dog and it will be a sad day when he dies.
|
i think your pet is already sad thinking about it
as for me, i own a dog and he's also coming to the 10 year old mark. the max lifespan for these breeds is about 14 years. i'll have to face it when in happens eventually. that's life :( |

| Not a nice feeling at all. Just make sure you never waste time when they're around, take them out for walks, play with them & make them happy and they'll do the same. |
