the cheapest is atually through your own bank (I think) :) CIBC has something like $25 up to 9 days of coverage, $40 for 2 weeks (emergency travel) |
Travel cuts was cheaper than what TD was offering. When we went to Cuba, I got a week of medical insurance (b/c I already had travel) and Ian got travel insurance (b/c he already had medical). And our total together was like $26 or something like that. |

Yes, b/c my mom and dad always book through them as well. She was actually the one that suggested it to me. My friend went to Cuba and booked through them and she said it was cheaper than what she found as well, and she is not a student. :) |

If you ever take the train ISIC cards are useful. They also have cards for "youths" that give the same ISIC card discount even if you're not a student. They're for ppl 25 and younger and are typically $15 I think, but ours are built into tuition. I know they can be used for other things besides VIA, but I'm not sure for what. |

It sure helps seeing one. You're not obligated to book with one at all. Next time you walk by one at a mall or wherever, go see the agent that looks like the type of person you'd want to travel with. They are frequent travellers, travel cheap, submit evaluations to their company each time each time they go, and hear feedback from customers every day. That's the expert you want to see for advice. Any travel agent will match or beat what you find online, and may find other unpublished deals too. |

For partying you have to do do Cancun or Acapulco BUT Playa Del Carmen is honestly my fav place to vacation because it has the best of everything....great beaches, amazing resorts and the club scene is great aswell.....
have fun. |
for SURE correct. Playa/Tulum has 5 star hotels for extremely good prices, great food everywhere, lots of places to go out (even in off-season), and is only a 30-40 minute ride to Cancun if you want more. TONS of activities, tours (of ruins, underground caves, water sports, etc), restaurants, bars, and the most resorts I have ever seen....Tulum has SICK beaches and Riuns, and is a short drive from Playa..... |

I had great food in Cuba. I stayed at a 5 star in varadero though...I imagine anywhere under 5 stars there would be a pretty big difference in quality.
The other great thing about Cuba is the distinct lack of Americans. The beach in Varadero, while it gets pretty small at high tide, is really nice otherwise. |
