also, it is weird that you mention how much americans like baseball...because last night there was a segment on the subject on television going on about how the game is struggling big time with people not going to games or watching them.

What? I said you, yourself, have zero emotion in the result of these World Cup games.

Nou, I'm probably one of the most qualified persons to speak on the matter. I was born in South America, a continent with a passion for football, but raised in the States. , I'm fairly confident I know more about baseball than you do. But that's not the point. All I'm saying is people who call watching footy boring were never emotionally invested in the sport to begin with.

But if watching is only for the emotional investment than that shows nothing about the quality of the game. I mean... a lot of people get emotionally invested in American Idol, doesn't mean its a good TV show... :p

Also its weird you didn't read my post and just made an ASS-sumption on what I was saying...

Wait, no its not...

"It really shows though how little an attention span has anymore, Baseball used to kill the ratings, everyone loved it, heck I can remember when it was the most popular sport by far and I am only 24. It is really sad that Americans have to go down to the level where they can not pay attention to even a game of baseball anymore. Incredibly sad."

it has more to do with television and internet giving fans more options to watch in terms of sports then in lets say the 80's. People used to love baseball because it was the only game around in the summers...not anymore.

I also forgot in the US not only do we have the professional leagues we also have the college play and in Baseball we have like 3 levels of farm teams as well.

A big problem, imo, with American sports is the lack of club system. The biggest reason that football isn't as big here as it is elsewhere.

I can see the excitement and entertainment when you are drunk and in a huge stadium with a lot of other drunk loud people, but watching at home on the television is a bit banal.

I played soccer for 6-7 years, I know most of the strategy and the little things, but to be honest, unless you are playing it then its really hard to take it all in.

Americans I think like intensity and tension of the major sports here. Baseball and Football (Pigskin) have both of those in spades. Baseball is the master sport of anticipation, no time limit, no ties, its batter vs. pitcher. Football has the strategy and the use of the clock as a integral part of the game.

I don't know, I liked playing soccer, its a fun game, and its good for little kids cause its easy to pick up and its not so violent, but eh, baseball has so much more going on in terms of suspense and strategy.

you truly are a in retard. I can't stress this enough.

by the way so happy you played soccer for 5 years from the ages of 2-7 right after playing in the sandbox. 2 more years and you could have gone pro

and soccer not being violent? i am a surgery machine due to the sport and have dislocated more shoulders playing indoor then i can remember. Playing in a high competitive league to we once had a guy pull a gun out on the field during a fight. joss you played the game for 4 years in "AMERICA" where the coaches strategy is to go out and have fun because they dont know anything about the game. what the could you have possibly learned playing against other teams coached by your uncle.

I have fortunately been really good at the game and have been able to compete at all sorts of levels in North America and have had the opportunity to play other teams from other countries in tournments. As much as i know about the game i can say i know all compared to some of those teams we got to play against from other parts of the world. You're going to tell me, after 4 years of you playing soccer with your friends at the park you know enough about the game? I have 100 dollars that says most people here dont even understand offsides
