Anyway, like I said soccer is a fun game to play, but its boring as to watch. There is simply not enough going on to keep me interested. |
I can understand that side. I guess it just depends on the strength of the teams playing each other and what's at stake. Usually an early goal changes the entire style of the match and it becomes quite end to end. |

when 2 good teams go at it it's very entertaining, but you're right there's a lot less going on in soccer than football or basketball. much less crazy goals/passes...and no dunks, hot cheerleaders, etc. |

You cannot possibly make a statement like this while talking up Baseball. Seriously dude :wtf: |

You don't need to make such a deep emotional connection to a sport to enjoy it. Besides, with things like baseball it'd be insane to have that much emotional investment. The number of games they play in a season is huge. Its more about the advancement of the team over all. |
you enjoy a sport because it makes you happy ... isnt that an emotion?
and yeah baseball players have so many games becuase it doesnt demand a physical effort as much as Football . They don't need a recovery gap. |

Um yes you can.
You have the interaction with the pitcher and the batter, the pitcher and the catcher, the runners at bases, the infield adjusting for the play they expect, the outfield adjusting for the play they expect, the batter on deck (or heck two batters away, the guy still standing on the dugout steps), the pitcher who might be warming up in the bullpen.
All that can be happening at the same time in a very easily identifiable way. There is far more going on at any one moment in baseball than there is in soccer.
People also need to remember that in the US Soccer is viewed as an upper class sport. This is not the case in the rest of the world, but here soccer is by and away viewed as a sport played by middle and upper middle class, as well as wealthy white children during their school years and into university. There is a definite socio-economic gap in the perceptions of the game.
Also since we already have 3 dominate sports in the US already in Baseball, Basketball and American Football most kids already set their sights on one of those franchises because they pay so well. They are also easily facilitated in being brought into those systems with middle schools that start them, high schools that scout them, then colleges that sign them (except baseball where they usually skip college and go into the farm systems, or do that fairly quickly once they start school). From the universities and farm systems they are already pretty much guaranteed a good chance to prove themselves and make it to a professional career.
Soccer doesn't have that infrastructure in the US. |

Except starting pitchers which have some of the most severe repetitive stress injuries in any profession. |

Um... I might be a bit overweight but I have never not been a physically active person... Also I started to gain weight while playing soccer... That was the oddest part.
Soccer makes you fat people! :D |

That, you have to actually run around all the time, its not like handegg or baseball where you stand for a few minutes only to see seconds worth of action :p |

I played usually defender or mid-field. I played a couple years as a goalie but I liked running around more, plus too much pressure! :p |
