Awesome! Also one of my favorites since I first heard it.

now how can a musician who considers that his favorite track make something like "Going Wrong" and think its any good? a complete 180...
Trance-MB
Who many people really have just one favorite track?

I also recall that he mentioned it in one of the earlier episodes of ASOT when he played it.

That says it's his favourite trance record, not his overall favourite. This may surprise you, but there's a difference.

Har har very funny mr bunny. I'm pretty sure he stated in some interviews that it was his favourite track ever. Not only trance.
Besides what were you implying in your last reply?
SYSTEM-J
That you're small minded.

You can like pop and underground music at the same time you know.

Well he's definitely got good taste with that one... Love oldskool Orb, it's what brought me into electronic music in the first place.

there's a difference between good pop and kitsch. if his "underground" taste is so refined then why wouldn't his pop taste be too?
SYSTEM-J
Blue Room is not underground. It was a Top 10 hit in the UK singles charts from an album that was #1. Armin Van Buuren has not had that much mainstream success.

^exactly - which is what makes it funny that he keeps pushing the super bad euro cheese that apparentley isnt his fave music. its like hes become the 2010 version of sash! - without the chart toppers.

I think most of those top trance DJs can remember the late 90s where it was possible to make a lot of money from a trance record. Remember when every other thread on TA was "When will trance become mainstream?" even though the music was at its all-time peak? There was this idea that trance music was about to break DJ culture to the mainstream, an idea people like AVB have never really let go.

Clearly in the way it has shaped the music they produce in a way which seems to cater to pop radio.
