No decent trance track is ever going to sell anything.
That is a fact, and this is why they go commercial.
If what we like to call "good trance" where still selling they`d all be making this kind of stuff.

Plenty of people make underground, credible records and still earn a living. AVB is a DJ. He could make a living from gigging, like DJ/producers do in every scene.
What you don't seem to understand, because you make this paper-thin argument over and over, is that AVB is no longer an artist. He has no integrity or credibility in this regard. He is not happy with making a decent living and producing the music he believes in, he is passionate about. He wants lots of money and fame and he makes and plays music for that purpose.
If you are willing to sacrifice your integrity for fame, you are not an artist either. And no matter how many times you repeat this argument, it is never, ever going to be a good one. The Orb sold hundreds of thousands of albums making ambient house.

I think its cool enough for a 2010 trance tune, the vocal chants gives it a little extra.

I think the argument is supposed to be "He didn't make it under his own name, therefore he's not trying to make money from it!" Even though he plays it on his own radio show and everyone knows it's AVB.
And yes, it sucks. It's just another templated trance anthem. If that's supposed to be AVB making underground music he really is a joke.

Of course hes a joke. i have no doubt he enjoys some music left of centre - and wow he has a semi kewl oldskool track as his 'top pick' of all time. (how much this means is very very debatable - when asked how he picks his 'tune of the week' the response was to close his eyes and pick one at random - yeah great dj).
even in his younger years - before he 'sold out' - he never really pushed any bourdaries - like for gods sake even paul oakenfold would slip in a drumnbass tune or ambient here and there - but armin has always been a very straight up and down bog standard genre defined dj.
even if he does yearn for something more and one day decided to actually go for it and play something half decent - i think he would really struggle to mix together anything coherrent - or produce anything other than soft fluffy pap - because it is all he REALLY knows.

It's not really about him pushing any boundaries. You don't push any boundaries, but it doesn't invalidate your integrity as a DJ. Point is not only that Armin is making music, but he's doing it for the wrong reasons.
And there's nothing "semi" about Blue Room's cool.

yeah i suppose - i just find the way he produces/plays almost arrogant in a sense - he can dish up the most awful pap designed for commercial radio - but not even good enough to get any airtime and still people will worship the ground he walks on.
but then paradoxically it also feels like he feels like a defeated man - after surrounding himself with yes men, business types and fanbois (this includes most of his armada producers) whatever creative spark he had is very very dim or extinguished rendering him unable to do something truly great that has the universal appeal - so he reverts to arrogance.
but thats my piece - i have nothing constructive or helpful to add so i leave it.

What Armin does isnt exactly new information, he makes music.. YES WE GET IT! Its been going on for quite some time now.
Its time to focus the energy somewhere else, instead of moping about how Armin sucks id rather enjoy the ONE good track he gives me from time to time and find better music elsewhere.
I believe any artist can make a cool track here and there, even if its commercial, on the last Tiesto album i liked two tracks,
if i listen to Armins album i will probably like one or two tracks there as well. Just like one the last album and the one before.

I like some of his productions. Some of the tracks on this cd are pretty good. Some probably need a remix. Either way I always have fun at his parties, I enjoy listeing to his ASOT episodes from time to time and he's a good guy who really does a lot for the trance scene. He's alright in my book.

The thing is the music itself has changed. Since he plays out what he gets sent, maybe he doesnt have the good material to pick.
