Where the UK has superclubs like MoS and GK but we dozens of clubs that play country. I see it as more exposure to EDM = the less exposure to Nickelback.

the problem is that EDM becomes the e like Nickelback and Rihanna when it gets too much exposure.

The only people that truly win with EDM becoming "mainstream" are the people who make money from the music.

+1

unfortunately "mainstream" is sometimes synonymous with "watered down".. I remember reading about ppl throwing their old disco records onto a baseball field when disco got too mainstream... will we be doing the same with our usb sitcks too? :p

Dude it's ALREADY mainstream, maybe not to the point of rap but it is mainstream enough.

As for the 'other posts', LOL.

I don't know if I would call it mainstream yet, at least not in this area. Its been commercialized but I still don't think you can call it mainstream music.

Fair enough, it's not oversaturated if that's what you mean.

Not As Commercial As Americas Dance Crew? That Video Is Actually The Definition Of Commercial Music

The Thing You Guys Experienced Is Dead RIP They Put The Paint On Glossed It Up & Are Selling It They Dont Want To Tell The Truth About It

If These Guys Cared About A Scene They Wouldnt Run Down South Mickey Mouse & His Industry Friends There About Control Of The Market They Are Great Business People That Are Using Music To Sell Merchandise Like Products Or Tv Shows

Most Music Is In The Same Place They Killed Theselves Off For The Love Of Something Other Then Music You Guys Know That They Hide Things That Are Against There Interest Then Try To Copy

It's far from dead....you just need to know where to look to find it. You won't find it on the radio or in big clubs but it's still going strong.

The Place Where Music Lives In Yourself But As A Scene That Time Is Done Theres A New Underground Now This Music Isnt It Anymore It Lost The Things That Made It Interesting From The Music To The People

These Guys Are Lady Gaga Madonna Etc Imitations Of The Real Things Some Of The Real Things Cant Be Played Because There Not North American

Theres No Problem With Radio Maybe The Music On The Radio Sucks But Thats Because Most Canadian DJs Like Mickey Mouse Dont Know About Music Or Creating Something Without Going Down South They Get The Kneepads Out

If These Guys Were About A Scene They Would Build One Here For You Not Lie About

Joee Built A Scene That Created Alot Of EDM DJs

These EDM DJs Were Ginos From Woodbridge Listening To Cheesy Euro & Exactly Like Joee They Are Selling Out & The Music Again Sounds Like Cheesy Euro

Mickey Mouse & Most Canadian DJs Especially The Corny Ones From Woodbridge Are Arriba They Dont Know But They Are Good AT Selling You Products But The Music Is A Harder Sell So They HAve To Shine It Up A Bit

You people are completely missing the point. Deadmau5 does NOT care what trash you talk about him... all of that is what created the publicity and ultimately his global exposure to show people what he IS trying to do. He never was nor will he ever be categorized as a "DJ". His sentiments are very clear: DJ's are a thing of the past and it was a completely different era in the 90's where it was fresh. He has been flamed in the past for his arrogant commentary on the scene and "artists" altogether but all he was trying to convey to people is that he is NOT trying to be another DJ. He wants to manipulate and push the boundaries of technology for the newer generation so that he can be innovative in PRODUCING a live show for people rather than simply getting paid to beat match 2 tracks together for hours on end.

So lets try to understand Joel' prerogative: (Joel please interject as necessary)

1. Deadmau5 is NOT a DJ and does NOT want to be pigeon-holed into this category... ever.
2. Deadmau5 is doing everything he can to push the boundaries of technology while infusing it with an "electronic" sound.
3. Deadmau5 manipulates tracks on the spot at his live shows very much like Paul Kalkbrenner would for live PA's.
4. Deadmau5 is doing everything he can to create a unique experience to inject into what seems like a very stale, repetitive scene which is now approaching its 3rd decade.
5. The visual experience is there to compliment the audible experience instead of the vice versa.
6. Deadmau5 has no intentions of using other peoples music at his live shows since he wants the people to be there for HIS music and for the Deadmau5 experience as a whole.
