I wonder to what degree the two groups overlap. |
Probably quite a bit.
Now that I look at that poll again, though, I noticed that 3% of people had "no opinion" on whether the earth revolves around the sun or vice versa, as if it's a matter of opinion. :conf: |

Maybe they just meant that they were unsure?
"Gee, I dunno, I've looked at the arguments from both sides and just can't make a choice. Need more evidence!"

Time Magazine has the number at 24%. And don't blame the Right- lets flashback to a couple of items published in the New York Times:[/url] |
There is still a huge difference. While "liberal" media papers usually give facts and ideas in their news, like the idea that Islam would see Obama as being Muslim even if he renounced being part of the Islamic faith, or that he thinks the call to prayer sounds pretty (it does, I think that as well), right wing papers tends to misconstrue these things.
Instead the right wing media says "Obama loves Islamic prayers (and because of that he is muslim)" or that "because Obamas father was Muslim, Obama is a muslim" (when really you could call him a jew, or a Klingon or whatever, doesnt mean its true).
That is not news. That is slander and propaganda. Its like when I say "Kevin supports killing babies of immigrants because they will be terrorists."
Then again I guess I can see now how you could take that as me being serious if all you give credit to or pay attention to is the right wing propaganda machines. |

Obama is just incredibly culturally sensitive.
He is a unifier, and when dealing with the Muslim faith, he really puts his neck out there when he attempts to include aspects of their religion. |

I would have to respectfully disagree on the "unifier" part... he has divided this country more than its been since probably Vietnam. |

fair enough... I think he has been kind of a bitter pill for many right wingers to have to swallow. |

You are the biggest wannabe "elitist" I've ever seen. You have no accomplishment or standing in anything to self-promote as "one of the enlightened few". You must take a position opposite the "common" people, otherwise, how could you be elite? You have a sick need to differentiate yourself from "commoners" and signal to the world what you're not. This twisted way of thinking places you where you most desire: in a position of moral authority where you can lecture to the rabble beneath you about how unenlightened they are. |
