I don't know man... we can debate the nuances all day. The larger question is that, where are we as a nation when 19+ months into his presidency, we are debating an issue like this? It's more troubling to me, regardless of political party, that there are still so many questions as to who our president is from both sides. But whatever... I just want the focus to get back to the damn economy. |

pretty sure the fire storm was set off when Obama commented last week that he supported the Mosque... and it's pretty doubtful that 70% of the opposing public are all Republicans. Jesus Christ, Nou... when are you going to do us all a favor (and yourself) and commit suicide? |

yup, it's been the right that have been practicing obstructionist politics...
it's obviously been huge for them to have lost control. |

Pretty sure the fire storm started when a black man was elected president and all the racist s finally grew a pair and came out of the woodwork.
You are in the minority right now, deal with it, like the left had to for so ing long.
If this were Iraq you'd be suicide bombing by now you crazy s. Already had a teabagger try a mini-9/11 when he crashed his plane into that IRS office. You guys are ing pathetic. Grow the up or get the out of our country because you aint playing the game, you are just acting like little bratty bitches. |

The race card is the last refuge of the coward. Couldn't be that a plurality disagree with the policies that he's enacted that are dismantling our economy... nope. We're all racists! LOL! Btw- that guy who flew the plane into the IRS office had no ties to the tea party at all. nice try.
And lol @ saying I'm in the mintority... enjoy your last few months of patting yourself on the back before the inevitable tidal wave of destruction that's about to happen during the November elections. FACT.
Dude you're freakishly unhinged. |

What I find amusing is how easily people are driven away from important issues by inane stuff like this. It happens everywhere, though. :( |

No, saying the race card is not on the table is denying that it is on the table and turning a blind eye to a legitimate issue. Race is still an issue in this country. "Obama was born in Kenya so he cant be president!!!!" vs. "Change the constitution so Arnold can run!!!"
Also saying the guy that hit the IRS building had no ties with tea baggers is like saying "xyz bombing group has no ties with al Queda" They still follow the same ideology!

You are right, 6 years of Republican controlled congress and 4 years of a republican president (who the will you elect this time, a block of wood?) will be a tidal wave of destruction. One that will drown us all and let the Chinese walk over our starving corpses. |

Yeah it would suck to go back to the days of 5% unemployment.
Budget deficit under Bush in 2007: $162 billion.
Budget deficit under Obama for JULY alone: $165 billion.

Wow 2007 thats like soooo relevant...
Like I've explained before.
We are ed. The US is going to be over as a power soon. The question is do we shore up what we can right now or do we let it just itself right over with out any triage.
Obama is trying to save at least one of the legs before it turns gangrenous, and he knows it. So spending money like its the end of the world, cause it is the end of our world.
You think we have any future in 25 years? You are mental. |

I'm not an eternal pessimist like you are; we recovered nicely from Jimmy Carter's same brand of economic stagnation. Of course I think we can recover. But 22 strait months of spending more than revenue received is ing ass backwards, and anyone with an economic brain knows that's not how you improve an economy. Growing government doesn't help, it hinders. I know that doesn't jive with your Statist dreams but that's the reality. We have GOT to cut back on this ing tumor that's demanding ever more sustenance from its private sector host. |

I agree with you that we are in a tough situation, unprecedented really, but if there is anyone with the intelligence and fortitude to try and get America turned around it's Barack.
The problem is that while Obama is working on fundamentally changing things to assure America's well being in the future, there has been nothing but push-back from the right. They are determined to try and keep the status quo, but it's that old mentality that has gotten us into the ditch in the first place. |
