50cal round is more expensive than 9mm or 5.56mm round

i meant cost in terms of cost of appeals and such

glad that some of you aren't in charge of our justice system

its a shame that some of us aren't in charge of our country's justice system. canada would not be in so much debt.

It's not fair that women's underwear look better than men's underwear :( however they only look better on a woman than a 47 year old hairy man lol.

It's not fair that their underwear is so much cheaper than ours...

god help the innocent ones found guilty. because you know, our court system is so flawless

That's why it should be reserved exclusively for a case like this one...

Where there is no chance of error...

Dude a .50 cal is one step below a tank shell....

I'm exaggerating, Yohan, to demonstrate the point that a round that large is a little over kill for an execution...

It can cost the taxpayer up to 100K per year to incarcerate someone in a max security facility...

The colonel is getting 25 before parole...

I doubt that the cost of a death sentence, with all of it's appeals, would cost 2.5 mill...

surely that Williams pleaded guilty counts for something? he's not wasting taxpayers' money over a long drawn out trial and appeals
PS: Marg, Williams is air force, not army :p

you should read Dead Man Walking by Helen Prejean. (there was a movie based from this book)
after reading this book, I became convinced that executions are flawed

I think it's safe to say Canada is so much debt because of our justice system. The way our govt spends money is a joke, and justice system is like a minor part of it...

Seriously. Can you really live with yourself if one person gets executed by accident when he is innocent? What if it was one of your friends or family? Easy to say you gotta break a few eggs to make an omlette, except when you're that egg...
