Agreed. The fact that it's a public pension is the part that makes me want to strip it from him. But you're right, he did work for that pension, and it is his money.

The government is trying to get it back.

That's the part I don't like. The government shouldn't be entitled to this. It should go to his wife or, as I said earlier the grieving families...

Isn't there already a victims of crime compensation fund or something like that?

As I mentioned above, this is what they are doing. The families are going after him in a civil suit, which could mean they are intiltled to go after his assets such as his pension if they win.

It's not the Gov trying get the money, it's the victims families.

-dont bother locking up the death row inmate for years before execution.
-dont allow them to appeal once guilty.
-convicted felons should not have any rights. they gave up those rights when they decided to commit a crime.
-they should be put in front of a moving bullet immediately after being pronounced guilty.

You assume the justice system is infallible.

I agree. If the prison is really a place where they can suffer, I prefer prison over death penalty.

Not when I'm paying for it...

And Bernardo has a tv as well...

Why, because he confessed?
What about forced confessions?
Also, no one would ever confess if it meant auto death penalty. Everyone would plead innocent and then it would be hugely taxing on our justice system.
There is always going to be a margin of error in the criminal system.

Do you really believe that a decorated Colonel in our Air Force would be someone who you could force a false confession out of???

The guy wanted to get caught and the dishonor of his actions led him to an attempted suicide...

Now we have to pay for his incarceration for the rest of his life where a lethal injection would have been easy peasy and cheap...

So yah.. In this case, I support capital punishment 100%

I think the definition is two or more murders, as long as the murders are committed separately, OR three murders over a short period of time and that that the murders were done for personal gratification.

Did Bernardo only kill two girls? He is considered a serial killer isn't he?

The standard developed by the FBI's Bob Resler is 3+. Bernardo is considered a serial killer because despite only being convicted of two murders, there is significant evidence that he was involved with the killing of Tammy Homolka - that's number 3. the same applies to Willie Pickton. He'll only be convicted of 6 murders; however, there's significant evidence of 26, and a possibility, although unconfirmed of up to 49. Officially he's 'credited' with 26.

8 years studying this ... I do know my definitions

Is the definition the same in Canada I wonder? Or do we not have a seperate definition?

why do I get the feeling that people seems to be supporting capital punishment for williams not because he killed two people, but he is also a sexual pervert

amazing how victims families start running after money after a life lost....

everything (or everyone) just becomes a set of digits.

You would suspect that his sexual deviancy may somehow tie in with his sexual life partner. Maybe she was some big fat bitch who dominated him into submission, and this was his vent? Who knows. I think its pretty obvious with Paul Bernardo that it was Hamolka that coaxed him into the killings, and perhaps even committed some of them (definitely her sister).

I guess the police would have troffed through that probability already and didnt find a link. Who knows, im just saying its kind of sketchy that she is entirely out of the picture.

Sexual deviants frequently develop their weird traits in childhood and then supress them throughout their normal life as adults.

supress them from their partners even? Don't you think he tried his wife's lingerie before going into 80 homes and stealing the clothing articles? Not to mention he stored some of it in his house. All im saying is that its odd that she was completely oblivious to the whole situation.
