he definitely lurks on a few boards, especially his own forums (giving us the beatdown at avalon after garen posted on his boards is clear evidence of that), but i bet he still drops by TA every once in a while... although i haven't seen him post on TA since i've been here.
i remember when markus said he was angry at the trance world a while back, and everything i've heard from this album so far indicates that not only is "i'm where it went wrong" a middle finger to the guy that made it, the entire album is a big eff you to the direction that the genre has been moving recently. i can't wait to get my hands on it.

when he got on the mic right in the beginning of the, he was talking as if he knew there were a lot of us that were worried, so he appeased us by saying, 'i'll be here a while".
2 hrs of the avalon set will be broadcasted tomorrow on gdjb so i can't wait even though i dont think we'll get the super twisted stuff he played after 5am.

In his defense, he wrote a post about why there were MCs and break dancers in the video which made sense.
And having seen Markus twice since the release of the video, I can assure you he doesn't play this version in his sets. But I must admit, the video def caught me off guard :eyes:

I'm I the only one not getting this Markus hype thing, people saying the guy who has changed his sound to 'Techie'.
The Avalon set has no Tech influences in there what so ever, it's just a bunch of big Euro dance tracks? Not even a whiff of Trance in there either?
This is more wedding style of DJing, he just throws big anthems at the dance floor?

It's just a load of mixed messages. The guy says in his blogs he's a True Trance guy, yet we see cheap C-list esq movie style pop videos (that make you cringe), Euro dance DJ sets along with breakdance re-hashes + video and terrible vocal pop songs he produces?
Actions speak louder than words in my books.
I was going to go and see him at Ministry of sound soon, but I'm afraid I'm out. Sorry.

Pretty sure Markus has gone out of his way to say he isn't a Trance DJ. On numerous occasions he has said something to the extent of "I'm not a trance DJ, I'm just a DJ who plays trance."

markus played for 6 hrs at avalon and he broadcasted the most user friendly 2 hrs of it.
we're not saying that markus is the next richie hawtin, all we're saying is that he's leaning towards a more dark tech/progressive influence...that's all. he still throws in vocals and trance here and there, but it's tastefully done.

I thought the last 30 minutes of GDJB were great. But yeah, much like with his NYE set that was broadcast I imagine the best part of the set wasn't even broadcast...

I don't like the hate trend happening with trance, especially on this forum. If you don't like it move to another genre nobody is forcing you to like or listen to it, it seems everyone is just talking for the sake of talking and holding a different opinion.
So many haters and critics chewing down on trance.
I don't like that schulz video with the MC, but i heard in an interview he used to be a breakdancer and was in that scene before he got big so that makes sense.
