Where Trance went wrong. (pg. 2)

As a huge Markus Schulz fan, even I can say his videos deserved to be made fun of. In his defense though, I don't think he has a lot of say on how the videos are directed or made. I could be wrong. Either way, the videos are really bad, and he will obviously be linked to them.

lmao at the titanic bit. i love trance but who the hell watches trance music videos anyways.

I used to collect them! lol. And a lot of videos back then had pretty much the same storylines you see in videos today. And just as cheesy.

I used to have a huge library of music videos along with videos of all the major festivals back then. I was even buying DVD sets from European/Dutch sites. I must've watched the first few Sensations dozens of times. Frickin' amazing. Trance Energy DVD. Amazing. Oh, memories.

if you want a whole different realm of cheesy, find some old school Scooter videos. :-p

I fail to see how anyone could say that someone who makes music like isnt dragging trance down.

I cringe when I watch this video. it looks like markus is walking into a whorehouse and trying to choose a hooker and the look on his face when hes on that bed with all the chicks is painful. and whats up with that creature dancing in the suit it looks like a ripoff of a moby video I saw once. its bad from start to finish and this is what gives trance a bad name.

lol
them be fighting words

Paul Anthony made a good point. who really cares about the videos? they're all pretty much the same anyway. lol

that's just a video that's dictated by armada.

trance isn't dictated by their music videos, go check out a markus schulz set and you won't be disappointed.

He loves Tiesto so his point is not valid. :stongue:

Why is anoyone even surprised about the videos? Vocal trance was just Europe's pop music the first half of last decade (00s). The clubs just played the non vocal versions of these tracks. Europe has moved over to hip hop, R&B etc. Trance didn't go wrong anywhere, it just faded. The younger generations want different a music style to identify with.

I don't care if someone thinks trance is cheesey and wants to mock the big names in the genre. If someone makes fun of something that I like I can laugh about it... if it's funny. But this video tries to force comedy down your throat and it tastes like crap.

Is Roger Shah cheesey for interacting with the crowd and helping an audience member play a midi keyboard? I saw him do that a couple times and the crowd loved it. Is RS supposed to just sit behind the decks the entire time? Same question for the DJ who dived into the crowd (was it Tony from A&B?). Diving into the crowd might be a bit over the top, but I would rather have a DJ do that than just sit behind the decks and do nothing.

The person who made the video should have stuck to making fun of trance artist album covers and music videos. A lot of material there.

I never thought I would see a video with the Benny Hill theme song and not laugh. :(

hey I dont love tiesto, not even close.

as for someone like markus not being responsible for his own video, well he is. everything the supertrance djs do is designed to cross over and make them pop stars, markus has been chasing it for years. thats why they keep bringing it down to the lowest level, so it will reach the widest audience. thats fine, but its not trance, its bad pop music.

its a shame that the word trance has been cheapened by these guys.

personally....find that song to be VERY annoying :haha: :haha:

I totally agree with this. The Rock & Roll Scene completely died once superstars were born and started doing things like crowd surfing and audience involvement.

So messed up.

Seriously. I Love trance, but the videos are awful. The album covers aren't much better.
