For John Safran's sake, Arbiter is Eurasian!
Just before I bump that thread, let's review the facts: Her mother migrated from China to Vancouver, and she went to Ontario/New York (location is still undefined) where she met Arbiter's father, a Nietzsche scholar.
It all makes sense, and this is the reason why she's never posted a single picture! She's probably too hot to be rendered in pixels! |
wait. Arbiter is female?
This changes everything! |

I once found a strange box while walking down the block with a friend who was not so honest. I did not want to touch the box because I did not know what was in it and it wasn't any of my business. He was convinced it would be something valuable so he opened it anyway.
It turned out to be a bunch of payroll checks from a large corporation. He wanted to do something underhanded with the checks and try to get them cashed somewhere. Knowing that it was a federal offense I did not want any part of it. I urged him to try to call the company and return them. After much discussion he was finally convinced that trying to cash these checks was not worth going to jail.
We made a few calls and ended up with one of the managers on the line who lived very close to where they were found and allegedly he was unpacking items from his car and absentmindedly forgot to go back for the last box after getting into an argument with his wife.
The guy was not in a very good mood, but we returned the checks nonetheless. He pretty much said thanks and slammed the door in our faces. My friend was not very happy about that response and wanted to get even. He dug up some more info about the company and called the CEO and told him what just happened. At first he didn't believe him but then he told him the managers address, described the checks and the box, and even remembered a few names that the checks were made out to at the very top of the stack.
The CEO told him that the manager would be fired as soon as he got back into the office and handed over the checks and even offered my friend a job for looking out for the sake of the companies finances and reporting the unreliable employee to him. He didn't take the job. |

Of course she is! :conf:
Have you ever seen a guy secretive about his identity? I bet you haven't! Have you ever seen a shy girl?
There are loads of them! |

What about Mr. Mystery? Come to think of it he does look like a girl so maybe you're right. |

Only thing I will say, is that she's a really generous person to everyone she knows; constantly buying, constantly treating people when she doesn't have to, and as a result she almost constantly seems to find money or gadgets like the one's above. She just takes it as a sign that she was meant to have whatever it is that she happens to find. |
I can assure you that her constant findings of cool gadgets and cash have absolutely nothing to do with the way (you say) she behaves with people.
It's quite amusing how people rationalize their shenanigans by alluding to things like karma or "God's will". I had a conversation with someone not too long ago who said that he prayed to God once because he was out of a job and needed money and later that day he saw a man walking in front of him drop his wallet. He picked it up and found a large amount of cash inside. He thought it was God answering his prayer so he didn't make any effort to catch up with the guy (who was only a little further down the sidewalk). I called him up on this imbecillity by asking him if he thought that if God exists and is omnipotent, the best way to answer his prayer would be by causing another person to lose it. His answer: "If that is the way God chooses to act, who am I to question him?". When pressed further on whether he actually felt good to take something that didn't belong to him he said that his "morals are guided by the Holy Spirit" that lives within him and acts as his conscience (he even went on and on about how this is true of everyone, but people don't know it or choose to ignore it, resulting in all the immorality in the world), and that the verdict this time was that it was the right thing to do because it was the will of God. Lovely chap, innit?

I would really like to see a logical pathway to this conclusion. |

that's pretty f*cked up. I've had some days when people better stay the f*ck away from me, even if they're bearing gifts. guy was fighting with his wife, obviously he must have been going through a personal turmoil and your buddy ratched it up a notch by getting him fired. his wife probably left him or slept with a rather well-endowed black gentlemen as a revenge, your friend's victim was destroyed by it and most likely jumped off a bridge shortly thereafter, killing himself. his children (assuming he had some) were left without a daddy and a paycheck his miserable job was paying. they probably are growing up to be junkies or criminals, right about now. one day, the boy will grow up to be a murderer, will go and kill an entire happy family because he saw father play with his son and he got jealous. and all that couldn't have happened if your friend didn't intervene. wonder how he feels about that.

We all know his name is Nik, and you even know what he looks like.
Do you know the colour of Arbiter's eyes? If she's a hot Eurasian, I hope they're green, but I've never seen them in my whole life. |

So... I finally received a "reward" check... $75.
Discuss. |

But my name has the word "mystery" in it so I must be secretive in some way. Logical, no? |
