He is one of the two managers responsible for keeping Trance events at Circus under the promoter name LMD. That said, everybody take a step back, take a deep breath and realize that we're all in this together to bring the best music to the best people.
I'll be the first to say that I've paid more for tickets at other clubs and then they got cheaper for one reason or another. A friend of mine bought 2 tix for Dave Seaman/Nick Warren @ Music Box for $15 and they were supposed to increase to $20, but all of a sudden tix were being sold for $5. I snapped up two of those and felt guilty hearing so much awesome music for so little (I got an extra drink to make up for it).
It doesn't usually happen, but it can, for as many reasons as anyone can probably come up with. I even bought a ticket to one of the big festivals like Nocturnal and they got cheaper later and then went back up, so you just never know. The LMD promoters work hard to bring in the best talent and sometimes negative criticism gets far more attention than all the wonderful stuff they do for us.
Take it from me...I once wrote a message on this very forum about problems with the Circus guestlist line and got smacked in the face TA style! After exchanging a few heated opinions, we came to mutual agreement that we're not here to tear each other apart, but to bring us all together...not only that, but I was personally given the manager's cell number to call if there are any problems in the future...but I never had to, because the line situation improved dramatically afterwards! :D

I agree, in2muzikk, I just felt his language was insulting.

I am still, and will continue to be, very grateful for the talent they bring to LA. I have a great time at their events.

My guess is that he does work for LMD because he went out of his way to say all that. Although he wasn't completely tactful, I didn't get the impression that he was being unappreciative. Truth of the matter is LMD is bringing in mad talent and it doesn't seem like they are raking in the dough with the prices they charge. So I can see how he can be frustrated when people are complaining about tix that are dirt cheap. And I do believe aside from making some profit, they want to keep trance alive and strong in LA for us TA's. Anyway, I just didn't think a "watch your language" was warranted in this case. If it were Insomniac, I wouldn't give a really b/c they're like a huge corporation, and corporation's don't have feelings.

Maybe it was the wrong phrase for me to use, I was specifically referring to him saying we're "bitching". I took it as an insult, and I guess it was meant in a more lighthearted way. When someone says to my face that I'm "bitching" or "being a bitch", I take it as an insult.
Granted, I wasn't complaining about the $5 difference in the first place, I'm fine with it. It is what it is.
I can see why he'd be frustrated, though. LMD events are pretty cheap for what you get. It's a good value.
But yeah, whatevs. Water under the bridge, PLUR and all that. :)

In this case, "bitching" is just another word for "whining"... :rolleyes: I'm an official representative of LMD, and while I appreciate the support we have I can also say that I'm sick of all the whining too. :whip:
We put a lot of work and love into the events we throw and do the best we can with the resources we have, but we can't make everyone happy. Let's focus on looking forward to the event and remember that getting to see all these amazing DJs in one night for only $25 is a great deal! :tongue2

Ok, I offer this Sean Tyas song as a peace offering. :)
And I've said it before, and I'll say it again: I used to pay $30-$40 to see one trance DJ every few months at an only decent club that closed at 3am in ATL, with a mediocre sound system.
LMD/Circus bring trance talent every single week, with trance openers and closers, a solid sound system, and good lighting, for prices that are less than the cover charge at most generic Hollywood clubs. I'll continue to give them props for this. :)

I want to see one text sent on Monday and Friday, and no more. And stop making the texts so damn cheesy. I was turned off by the "hey did you hear so and so is at circus. Come by and I'll give you a free drink" this ain't the 80s, those tactics aren't effective anymore

First of all we did not send a text on Tuesday.
We only sent on Monday. It was to inform you and all the loyal LMD customers that you would be able to buy 20 dollars tickets, for all the people that didn't get the sale. When I went to see ATB on friday, I promsie the new Trance lovers that I would do 20 tickets on Monday for them. I guess what I did was wrong!! Next time when there is a sale, I will try something different and not send out text or info. I bet you will go on TA and complaining to Malia you didn't get the info and it not fare (right malia)
Btw. The reason why I use the word bitching is because everyone is allowed to go on TA and express their feelings but when I do it, am I wrong for this. Sorry for us my fraustration. Didn't call any one a bitch but only meant stop wining. Every on this board will tell you how much I care about TA opions. Also if you don't want a text just text stop texting we will take you out no worries. It saves me .05 cents. Lol. SVD @ Circus!!!.. finally.. they put this guy in a club where you can actually enjoy his music. Caught him at Avalon, and that crap was a cluster .. who like's clubbing that like? I can give a rats ass if I am stuffed next to 3000 different strangers.
And I agree, $20-25 is freaking cheap for three headliners in Hollywood. These guys have made improvements, and to tell you the truth, I would not still be partying it up if Circus was not open.

Can't you just text "opt out" and you'll be taken off the list? It has always worked for me when I use to get mass texts from multiple promoters. Yes, I am a former club whore =x
