Hey Loc, a little birdy told me we got SVD in Jan?

Wouldn't it be funny if Johnny was talking about some guy named Sam von Dingle?

Johnny is wishing again. Hahaha
We already have Marcel Woods confirmed for that date..

Mr. van Doorn (Sander) should absolutely spin at Circus though! Last time I heard him was at Avalon, and the washers were nothing short of disturbing...I'm sure that he noticed and it was probably reflected in his set, which was not among his best IMO. I suppose that Avalon "owns" Sander now though (at least for LA), but I think Circus would be perfect for him! Imagine SVD bouncing all over in front of that huge LED wall...ZOMG!!

It is easy to lose sight of the fact that there are more items we agree on than disagree on.

Agree: (who doesn't agree with this?)
(1) LMD brings in a ton of trance talent regularly
(2) LMD always charges relatively little to see this talent
(3) LMD gives patrons a lot of freedom inside the club in terms of clothing, sitting on couches, glowsticks, food carts, etc.

Some people have concerns with two items. It should be pointed out that these concerns are being raised because people care about Circus.

(1) Some people feel that they are receiving too many texts from LMD. Sometimes I feel that I get too many texts from promoters in general (not just LMD) because I already know about the events through TA. But not everyone checks TA 10 times a day like we do and Loc is trying to reach those patrons who may not know about the DJ at Circus during a particular week.

If you do not like getting sent 2-3 texts a week from LMD about an event you already know about, Loc already said that he will take you off the list. You still can find information about Circus events on TA or through Malia's and LMD's emails.

(2) Circus has had a pattern of having a sale the week of the event that lasts a day or two (or in this case, 100 tickets). The sale price usually is $5 off the pre-sale price.

Before Monday, most of my friends bought tickets for $20 or $25. When my $25 ticket friends found out about the $20 ticket sale on Monday, a few were a bit upset. They felt they were penalized for buying early. I heard things like, "Why would I ever buy a ticket far in advance from Circus if I know tickets will go on sale the week before the event?" Those who were upset were no longer thinking about how awesome it will be to see a ton of talent for only $25, they were thinking about the $5 lost by buying presale tickets early. I think it is important to realize that the emotions evoked by such sales are not just limited to this forum... some non-TAs felt the same way and the implications for business are obvious.

As DaveT said, LMD is running a business and the release of 100 $20 tickets was a business decision. LMD gave people plenty of time to buy $20 tickets before the prices increased to $25. While some $25 patrons may be upset at the sudden $20 sale, 100 patrons are happy that ticket prices went down to $20 on Monday. Additionally, I'm sure the few upset $25 ticket friends will get over the $5 difference quickly, especially after seeing the awesomeness of Circus on Saturday.

I promise you guys there will be no more $20 tickets. I am raising it to $30 on Friday... aHaha with all this hype..

Whoa there, Marcel Woods and Michael Woods are two different people. :)

I'd also like to re-iterate that I never said I cared about paying the extra $5. It stinks, sure, but it's no biggie. Like I said, I'll just street park instead of paying for the lot, and that way I actually end up $5 ahead.

So the doors open at 9pm, right? Apeattack, I assume the early part of your set will be more progressive? I love me some progressive, so I think I might mosey on upstairs when I get there.

The first hour of my set likely will feature a lot of slower vocal trance (below 130 bpm), although there will be some non-vocal progressive songs too. Come up and say hi!

I'm sure the number of people happy about getting another chance at $20 tickets > the number of people who bought tickets for $25 and are a bit upset about the ticket price going down on Monday.

Since I started going to Circus in late 2008, Circus always has been an incredible value. I would pay significantly more than $20 to see this much talent under one roof.

That sounds awesome! I'm probably using the term progressive wrong anyway, sub-genres confuse me sometimes. I used to call everything trance, and then a bunch of people told me trance has to be 136bpm or higher and that slower stuff was progressive. :/
