Well then thanks to Loc! And well done, great crowd and production.

Man... what a crazy night.

As one of my friends said yesterday, why can't Circus have a 10-year anniversary party once a month? Seriously... why not?

Thanks to Johnny for allowing me to have my birthday party in the loft. I bought my first mixer last December and have spent hundreds of hours during the past year pushing buttons and twisting knobs in my pursuit to make two songs flow well together. I remember thinking at the time about how awesome it would be to one day DJ at a major club like Circus, even in the loft. While I still have a looooong way to go, it was wonderful to have friends share in my passion last night. I planned to end the set around 1am but I was having so much fun that I extended it to 2am (I probably could have DJ'd until the club closed... and then a few hours more, but I wanted to check out Sean Tyas). When I went downstairs after my set, there was a big blob of orange at the front left of the stage. The "Orange" County presence was strong.

The night almost was a disaster for me. I arrived at 8:30pm to set up, but the sound technician couldn't get my beautiful Numark Omni Control to work with the DJM. Around 9:15pm I tracked down Christian and within three minutes sound was coming from the speakers. I went from total despair to total elation. Christian Burns (not the singer) saved the night!

I remember Epic007 and System-7 coming up and saying hi. Quazar kept me company much of the night and Malia made me a beautiful orange bead bracelet. I know that other TAs said hi last night (I think I took pictures with some of them too) and I ran into TAs (like GPC) outside the loft, but it was so hectic and so many friends came up to see me that I can't remember everything. Sorry if your name got left off this post.

My friends kept telling me that the number of people and energy levels in the main room were extremely high. They had never seen Circus like that before. When I put my equipment away and went to the main floor I was blown away by the energy in the room. Since I started going to Circus in late 2008, I never have seen so many people staying past 2am. Unfortunately, many of my orange friends partied too hard and needed to go home, so I only caught a few minutes of the magical main floor.

I had planned to make my set immediately available for download, but unfortunately the sound from the electro side room kept bleeding over into the loft. This forced me to distort a lot of songs (for example, greatly enhancing the highs during the quieter parts) to cancel out the noise from that room. I will need to relisten to the set to see how much this affected the final product.

For those TAs who came up to see me, I normally love to interact with the audience more (jumping around, fist pumping, singing my heart out, etc.). But the stage setup in the loft made it a bit difficult. The step in the middle of the room forced me to be separated ~10 feet from everyone (except the occasional pole dancer) and I was forced to put the computer right in front of my face (usually it is off to one side), making it difficult to see all your beautiful faces. But overall I had a blast.

Special thanks to my wife for putting up with my non-stop mixing for the past two weeks and for decorating the room.

Favorite memory of the night:
After I packed up all my equipment a (drunk?) woman came up to me and begged me to play some Deadmau5. I told her multiple times that I was done for the night. "Cmonnnn... 'Some Chords'... pleeeaasseeee." Eventually someone (Quazar?) told her that she might have some luck in the electro side room and she left.

Some people requested the tracklist of my set. As you can see, I am huge fan of Arty.

If the recorded set turns out well, then you still can.

Yeah, Apeattack's set was great. I honestly enjoyed the music he was playing more than Norin & Rad. That's not to say N&R weren't great, I was just in more of a low-bpm mood at that point of the night.

Also, thanks for letting me play with the knobs on your controller as the last song was winding down.

I probably made the last 15 seconds sound terrible, so if there's a fade-out at the end when he uploads his mix you'll know why. :P

Haha... I thought about that when I started relistening to the set. There definitely will be a fade out at the end.

Wow!!! Such a great night. Got there at 9pm and danced out asses off to 7 hours of great music. Really enjoyed Norin and Rads slightly mellower opening set. Could have listened to it all night. Always nice to catch some fresh talent and W&W lived up to the hype. But all the DJs delivered the goods. There was so much energy on stage all night. And just when I thought I was getting a little tired, Tyas came on the turned on the overdrive. Even caught a little of Apeattack set which sounded good.

The lighting, Christmas decorations, festive go go dancers and the over all vibe were over the top. Great, great job LMD!

Will be posting our pictures shortly. Was getting some great stage shots until I got kicked off ;) Sorry about that whole incident Jonny :(

Now can we do this every Saturday? lol

I think I'm awake now... :)

To everyone that came out, thank you so much. The night could not have been better.

Norin & Rad always rocking it out. Even if it is an hour set =) Thumbs up to them. Two of the best friends I could have.

Tritonal did an excellent job of getting the night pumped up. Always bangin out the tracks. Two texans doing it big...as they should. Thank you Tritonal for making the night amazing.

W&W...well let's just say they definitely bring out their big Dutch sound. Lived up to every expectation. Starting out with Marcel Woods - BPM (Second Mix) then into Arena (if my memory serves me well) Once Arena came in...the night was DONE. It set the mood just right and the place was movin.

Sean Tyas...WTF was the song he played around 3AM. HOLY WOW It was like some epic heavy hitting 138BPM with some break beat dub tek. I WAS LIKE OMG. LOL Hats off to Tyas for ending with a heart pounding set.

Thank you to the team at LMD for making the night possible. Production was great. Lighting was awesome and the sound was really good.

Hope everyone made it home safely and I'll see you in 2011 =)

The loft set is finally uploaded. 265 minutes of cricket sounds.

Really, it was Quazar's set. He hit the play button at the beginning of the set and he forced me to fade-out the end of the set in post-production due to his reckless EQing. :p

I made no post-production edits to the set except for the simple fade out at the end.
Quazar
AH! What song is that at 3:19:00? That's the one I've been looking for! When I first heard "Dynamik", I thought that was it, but now that I'm hearing this I know THIS is the one I was looking for, and this is not Dynamik! It's been on several radio shows, and I love it!

By the way, Apeattack TOLD me to hit the Play button. I didn't just run up and hit it. :P
