My dad was telling me that his is becoming an issue in India as well. Girls are now concentrating on school and going to college, so they are not learning how to cook, which is throwing off the arranged marriage process.

It's not that hard to learn how to cook!

I am being sarcastic...and I would agree that men are much more capable of basic domestic stuff than they were 50 years ago from what I can tell.

lol I just want to learn how to do the basics. Well, AT LEAST the basics. So I don't have to take my shirts to the tailor when I just need a button sewn on or a small stitch.

yeah, i really need to invest in a sewing machine. tailoring pants is very expensive. Like i want to pay 20 bucks to tailer pants that cost 20 bucks. such a waste. my mom sewed everything for me.

So you don't think it's worth it for someone to mend your clothes, but paying someone to raise your child is alright??

Same. My mom has a sewing machine but I doubt she'll let me have it. Nor do I have room for it.

Have you heard of those little handheld sewing machine things, or small fixes? I wonder if they work.
