Some psychologists refer to Pygmalion (the play My Fair Lady is based on) as a model for a certain type of narcissist who, under the guise of offering advice, manages to inflict small emotional and psychological wounds. I could be wrong, but I have a feeling you simply spotted his gross negligence with the English language one too many times and the extension of that analysis is beyond his sophistication to intend, let alone convey with any sort of relevance.
