| I just don't understand why IGK is here at all. Absolutely nobody likes him, he's routinely mocked by just about everyone on the forum, he spends most of his time being intellectually insecure and making impotent little jabs at more popular members, and I've never once seen him even raise the subject of music. What's he getting out of TA? |

Yes because being popular on a web forum should be the goal of every person's life, and nobody could possibly want to be part of an online community for any reason other than being well liked. It is absolutely impossible that he could ever get anything out of TA without being popular.

No, they're very different things. You, for instance, are not stupid but you're almost certainly intellectually insecure. It's that self-styled no-nonsense, bloke-in-the-pub "I'm smart, but I'm not one of these pretentious wankers" attitude and the way you refute almost anything long-winded or thoughtful by default. The same with IGK. If Hal or any of the other "intellectual emos" of TA posts something that's wrong then it's fine to raise an issue with it. But it feels like IGK and yourself don't actually bother to engage with such posts on a point-by-point basis but rather dismiss them out of hand for the way they're written or for the sheer fact they are written at all. It's that basic difference between admitting you don't get something, and insisting there's nothing to get.

I presume this barrage of sarcastic strawmen is because you've successfully alienated yourself from everyone TA in the last week or two, and you're still determined to loudly inform everyone that you're totally fine with that.
However, IGK doesn't post about music. He doesn't even post in PDD or anywhere like that. He posts entirely in the COR. He never makes threads, or shares links. His activity consists almost entirely of making famously terrible jokes and talking about other members. If IGK doesn't want anyone to like him, what brings him to TA day in and day out? |
