Yea the club was very busy and that is a successful night for the club. That's nice. I'm sure they also could have had a successful night by not appealing to the lowest common denominator as well. I would argue that if they book Hawtin, Locodice v Carola, Vath or a Vagabundos night etc (commercial names but on the opposite end of the spectrum to guys like Kaskade & Axwell) on one of these long weekend parties the club would still be heaving at the seems. But that is GUV for you ...
Really, it has never been known as a venue you would go to to hear cutting edge music. It's a place that has never been known as and will never be known as a trendsetting musical club. It's a club that follows trends (and is usually a couple of years behind in doing so). Right not it seems like they are biting on Vegas/LA with the lineups they are booking ... |
Totally agree. |

I think if you want to make 1 recommendation on avoiding the pure cheese events this would be definitely be it. If they had some balance like the DJ legends in 1 room and cheese in the other you'd be able to appeal to 2 different groups. It would also give the younger crowd some education and exposure to where their came from at the same time.
|
Absolutely agree. While on their own, any of those classic DJs might not draw as many people as one of the newer cheese DJs would, 3 of each would probably bring in even more people than 6 of of the newer guys, because...as you say, different crowds. That kind of lineup would appeal to both groups rather than just appeal strongly to one.

full of hot sexy white girls. i had a field day back then.
back then i could walk up to any hot white girl and start a conversation. we would chat for over half an hour on the patio then her bf would show up and introduced himself and shake my hand. very courteous and polite people. try doing that these days... you'll have some jealous moron wanting to kick your ass. |

I use to love the completely random conversations I would have with people back in the day. Nowadays the only person I would even dare talk to is Shaya. |
