Even though we're all getting older, I'm glad we're all still fans. I went and saw Digweed at the Mayan, and it was mostly people in their late 20s/early 30s there to enjoy the DJ they've been listening to for years. It was a nice vibe..and the same thing for Howells' Monday Night Social this past Monday. The main room consisted of people who really looked like they were there to enjoy Danny and his eclectic track selection, then upstairs was dubstep filled with mostly kids in their early 20s. It was like two completely different worlds. That's fine, though..I just hope we all stick around so there's a draw to bring in the talent we've been listening to for so long. I wish deep house was bigger out here. Timewriter, Francois Dubois/Funk D'Void, Terry Lee Brown Jr., Jon Silva, etc..that's a part of EDM that I'd love to see more of out here.

I felt this status update from Gareth Emery's Facebook fits this convo well
"you guys who are like "OMG U PLAYED ONE DUB/ELECTRO TRACK IN YOUR PODCAST " are totally pathetic. Dance music genres are not in competition, we are in this scene together. Since 2006 my podcast has always had a huge variety and I've never had any rules about what I play. It's just whatever ing tunes I like that week. If all you want to listen to is 100% trance there are plenty of shows doing that so go listen to them. Sorry to rant but this close minded bull really s me off. Peace xx" -Gareth

i have realized that I am an old man. I embrace my wisdom and will continue to party. Point me in the direction of some "good" dub-step (and some good party favors) and I'm sure I will appreciate it.
*takes another rip* :)

What do you think of the Rico Tubbs remix of Corona "Rhythm of the Night?"
I'll post a link once I get to my laptop.

Good dubstep (my opinion):

I'm not big into Dubstep, but one song I do like is Kid Cudi - Pursuit of Happiness (Slinks Remix). I remember walking into the Sports Arena last MM and someone dropped it. Everyone inside the Sports Arena started singing along with it.

I love dubstep remixes of pop, rock, and hip hip tracks. Most of them are produced perfectly. There like a big slap in the face with a gob of honey.

dubstep, enough said. yes i am a hater... of bad music. Someone has to step up for the TAs here. The crowd that follows is just a bi-product, like taking a dump and then the odor after. :P
