What do you think are the chances the conservatives are going to win? I really hope not, because that is ing up my business. I am supposed to help companies in the renewable energy sector that want to expand into Ontario and now they're all afraid that the Torries are going to cancel the Feed-In Tariff program.

What are your thoughts? Can someone put me at ease please?

75% McGuinty is gone this yr

^^^ that's what the current consensus is.

I really don't think people fully understand what the consequences would be of cons at both the federal and provincial level (and municipal if you're in TO). Will take decades to come back from the damage imo.

Well what I'm saying that I'm already seeing the damage first hand, and that's just from the predictions. Companies are telling me they were planning/wanted to expand into Ontario (and therefore create jobs) are now holding off due to the upcoming election.

It will take decades to repair the Liberal damage, I agree.

The only hope this province has is the Conservative party. The Liberals are just gonna bury the province into an even bigger hole.

What consequences? are they any worse than what the Liberals have done to this province over the last decade? I doubt that.

Wasn't trying to say I think McGuinty will do some sort of amazing job or anything. I just think having a Con in power at every level is highly dangerous. There's so many examples I can site from what Harper is starting and it hasn't even been close to a year yet. Add a provincial buddy high fiving him on all those initiatives + bringing the same train of thought to Ontario and ya I definitely see some damage being done. Just an IMO thought so no worries if you don't agree.

For the most part I think this election is similar to the federal one where Cons will win as all options are pure e and they happen to be slightly less worse than the others.

The last time Ontario was prosperous was when we had Conservative leadership.

Since Liberals have taken power our economy has shrunk, taxes have gone up (via strange "fees"), spending has gone through the roof and our competitive stance in North America has been diminished. FFS - we get transfer payments from Ottawa because we are a "poor" province (akin to NFLD in the 90s).

The only thing Liberals have done well is bring in HST - great move IMO.

I heard Andrea Horwath on the CBC a couple of days ago. She seems to be the only one of the three who can string a sentence together.

Tim Hudak is clearly an idiot and a simpleton, regardless of what I think of his party. Really not interested in having a Ford at Queen's Park too.

McGuinty is.. McGuinty.

I never thought I'd say this but I'm very seriously considering the NDP.

So you are complaining because you wont get your seat at the public tax cash trough if Hudak is elected?

Sounds like a clear endorsement of Hudak to me!

:D :D :D

Mcguinty is going to federal after this election (this is from a close source to Mcguinty) so there won't be anymore of him regardless. Many know what my stance is (pro solar so therefore not conservatives). My issue with Hudak especially since he is making hydro bills a big part of his campaign is what are his solutions, game plan? To be honest, he doesn't have one nor knows wtf to do. He's already getting put on the spot to show real numbers supporting his claims but cannot produce anything. His dilmena is this (in terms of the FIT program/ hydro rates):

- 80.2 cents / kWh for rooftop solar represents less than 1% of Ontario's power generation therefore actually not the reason why your hydro bills going up which he has actively stated. Just reading comments on FIT related articles on news sites shows how misinformed people really are and will believe anything they hear and read. The major solar projects and wind projects are being paid 44cents/kWh and 13 cents/kWh respectively at a fixed rate for 20 years. Still not creating a major impact on your hydro bills. In other words, Hudak knows hes screwed here and thus cannot produce any supporting information and will continue to boldly make these statements cuz he knows people will listen without asking for proof. Hopefully someone will call him out on this (well they have but he has denied any debate opportunities)

- Ontario's Power Grid: the decades of Conservative government neglect to make any improvements to the grid and in exchange pay for Ontario nuclear program has been showing its true form. Let us be the ones who started the nuclear program and let the next government pay for the costly upgrades required to support it...

Here is another issue that Hudak must face:
During the 40 years of Conservative rule: tax dollars and massive debt was used to build/subsidize the nuclear plants. Where was this debt going to go? Well Mike Harris put it on ratepayers to cover the nuclear overspending. There were tons of behind door deals that assured big profit contracts. Ooops. Take HST off your hydro bill? Sure, how bout you pay the debt that your previous ruling created that we have been dishing out as well.

Check out this article (yes its pro solar but some facts in here are irrefutable. http://www.sunpowergp.ca/renewable_...n-giant-killer/

I think its funny that Hudak is basing his platform on hydro rates when it was the Harris government that created the debt that we are paying for. So who am I voting for, def not Hudak. IMO he's even more sleazier that Dalton. I am still waiting for some documents as to how he will pay for the necessary upgrade of Ontario's power grid and also how he will pay for more nuclear power. How many jobs and social programs will he cut to "put money back into families pockets." A dual conservative government is def not needed. Some balance is needed.
