Living Alone

How many of you guys live alone currently, or did live alone for a pretty long period of time?
I just moved into my place ~3 weeks ago and I'd say I'm pretty well acclimated at this point. I have all of my furniture / whatever set up, and just have some more decorating to do. I got a few sweet art prints that I need to put up.
I'm pretty happy living alone so far, but I can't say I haven't felt lonely at times. I guess that doesn't have to do with solely my living situation though - I don't really have any close friends in this city anymore. That wouldn't be so bad if it weren't coupled my not having a car.
Well, back to the topic at hand: any advice? Things to always have on hand? I'm slowly stocking a sort of mini-bar. I've been drinking more than I'd like to since moving in (which isn't as much as I was two years ago...) but it's only the beer that I tear through as soon as I purchase it. I have some whiskey and gin that will certainly last. Couple bottles of wine too.
What's the deal with neighbor relationships? Is it generally the case that I'll never meet them? I caught a glimpse a couple days ago and it's two hot girls living together next door to me. Also, it seems like another hot girl resides alone across the hall. Am I gonna bang these chix? Are they gonna cook dinner for me and let me watch their tv? (I'm not getting one) |

Ok, proper response.
I've only lived on my own twice, and for only 6 months each time, due to the leases I got.
Maaaan, living by yourself rocks, hahaha. As long as you're young, single, have a pretty active social life, and don't become a hermit, you'll be good mate.
Try and keep your place clean, because I guarantee you, whenever you invite people back to yours, it will be THAT ONE TIME you didn't clean up :p
Make sure you always have:
- A couple of bottles of wine
- Candles :gsmile:
As for neighbors... Well, make your own decision. I've nearly always hated my neighbors, so now I make no effort to meet them and be friends. If they're hot... yeah, ok, try that if you want. If you shag them, and it goes bad.... yeah :p I've slept with flatmates before, and it s things up -- Neighbors, I'm not so sure about :p
Have fun though, basically :p |

Well -
I do have quite a few candles already :D
and I've been really good about keeping clean. Straighten up almost every day.
I also have a couple of bottles of wine.
My place should be pretty good for hosting company...it's a studio but I decorated it in such a way that the living room area and bedroom area feel totally separate.
So the problem here is just that....well i'm back at school as I still need to finish up. I turned 23 this summer. Everybody is younger and I know almost none of the people at school. I've got on pretty well with 2 people from two of my classes, and there area a few others with whom I exchange pleasantries but I'm basically in HELL. I don't have any desire to do the college party thing - so, given what I like to do, I don't have any desire to seriously befriend anyone under 21.
I have a few friends my age still out here but they have all sort of moved on - working jobs, but also..they're the same as they used to be. just do college bars and stuff liek that (never my scene really) so I'm almost happier to not go out with them on the weekends. An ex of mine likes to go to some similar parties (but she's more of a west coast raver type, and I could never identify with that either). I actually hit her up and went with her and a gf of hers to the culprit party this past weekend. I think she wants to bang me again...but i'm so tired of sleeping with ex gfs i really need something new.
Until I can meet some like minded people (at my school? maybe never going to happen) I'm gonna just have to try to stay active and occasionally shell out the cash to go to a party alone if i really wanna go (not having a car in this city blows!).
depressing post was depressing:wtf: :wtf: |

None of that sounds depressing. How about you shut the up
You'll either get to know the people in your classes, and find some cool ones, or you'll meet cool folks when you go out.
You have your own place though - In Uni, that means you rock :D |

| It's kind of like living with other people, except you don't have to put up with anyone's bull. |
