| Because I would ultimately end up loving and favorite the dog over the kid, mainly due to the fact the dog can do all these tricks and the kid is still smearing spaghetti-o's in its hair... again. |

I think the dog would love a chance to get spaghetti-o's all over itself if it could. ;) I know Lily would want to roll in it lol |

Since most of you seem to be against having children, that it's illogical and cost-inefficient and unnecessary, would you say that other people shouldn't have children either? |
I would say that in most cases it's against their self-interest to have children. However, it's not for me to say whether they ought to pursue their own self-interest in this matter.
Obviously, society as a whole has an interest in maintaining some level of re-population from generation-to-generation, both quantitatively and qualitatively. Currently, individual incentives would seem to frustrate this interest. It may be worth considering how these incentives could be altered, but it's not something I've given much thought to. I seems relatively easy to subsidize parenthood quantitatively, but once you get into the qualitative side of things you have to negotiate thorny issues of eugenics and so forth. I imagine we could come up with something more effective than mass suicide, in any event. :p |

Think about it:
Children are like clients, they want all of you all the time. |
