This is just ignorance to the n'th degree. You think there is some set of rules which governs who can and can't be Catholic. If you're okay with homosexuals, you can't be Catholic. If you're okay with abortion or contraception you can't be Catholic.

Sure there are
you can't marry same sex as a catholic
divorce and remarriage (if the previous spouse is alive) is not accepted by the catholic church
convert priests are allowed to be married, but a priest who is initially catholic cannot marry.
to name a few.
You can't just call yourself a catholic and do whatever you want. There are rules, and a belief system that should be followed. Otherwise you're basically mocking the faith.
Just think about it for a second. The most basic tenant of the catholic faith:
How can you claim to be catholic and not believe that jesus is the son of god. Why would you even participate in the rituals? Don't you think this is insulting to those who actually beleive?
And before you go on saying "oohh i'm not catholic" put up some sort of stance to what catholics believe if you are going to vehemently defend them to the cross.
complacency does not equal justification. |

| Actually, you can be Catholic if you support abortion, and contraception. According to Catholicism, you are Catholic always when you are baptized no matter if you denounce God or support abortion. |

Not being able to marry does not mean gay people can't be catholic.
Marriages can be annulled, which is essentially the same thing as divorce.
Priests can't marry, this is a very brilliant exposition of laws which all Catholic followers have to follow. If I want to marry, I'll be sure to not become a priest.
Never did I say there weren't certain beliefs that were requisite to being Catholic. Believing Jesus to be the son of God is one, as you pointed out. However, I simply pointed out the inaccuracy of stating that homosexuals aren't allowed to be Catholic, people who are okay with contraception or abortion can't be Catholic, etc. This is all true. You're shifting what I'm saying to fit your argument, when it's not actually what I said at all.
I don't have to put up any stance at all. You're obviously completely ignorant and majorly uninformed as to what the requirements are for being a Catholic, so there's really no point in it. I'm not even really defending Catholics, I'm just pointing out obvious ignorance and intolerance.
Edit: This:

Nrg, I recall you saying you went to a Catholic school. I find this hard to believe considering your understanding of Catholicism is so inaccurate. |

sure supporting is one thing, but actually acting on it and getting support from the institution itself is different.
So why would you support an institution that doesnt support your beleifs? |

Why be part of a society if all members of that society don't believe all of the exact same things as you? |

| because you can chose not to be part of the "club" especially if the majority of the outdated beleifs are not up to par with your own and that of modern day society. |

"Incorporated into Christ by Baptism, the person baptized is configured to Christ. Baptism seals the Christian with the indelible spiritual mark (character) of his belonging to Christ. No sin can erase this mark, even if sin prevents Baptism from bearing the fruits of salvation. Given once for all, Baptism cannot be repeated."

According to that link, you will always be Catholic even if you denounce your Catholicism. I guess it's a matter of self and others' branding, but even if you don't consider yourself Catholic, you are Catholic according to others. If a subject says "I'm not Catholic" but said subject was baptized, then it's just a matter of self-branding vs Catholic branding. Maybe even God branding. :p |

Okay, so you think all good Catholics should ascribe to all of the same beliefs and if they don't they're not good Catholics.
Duly noted. |
