Yes, yes, we can all look forward to his insufficiently terse analysis, as usual!

Ebert gave this bitch 4 stars :haha:

I've seen this twice now, it definitely needed a second viewing for me. Overall I really enjoyed it. It was beautifully shot, gripping and the acting was great (especially Fassbender). There were more than a few drawbacks, though, which I wont go into too much detail about for the sake of the people who haven't seen it yet. The main drawbacks for me were the script and the films inconsistency. I also believe that the trailer gave away far too much.
Anyway, I came across this today......
.... and apparently this is going to be a trilogy, which came from Ridley himself, although I haven't personally heard the source yet (a radio interview).

lol, growing up with it reminds me of a funny parenting fail:
When I was rather young they showed Alien on TV late in the night and we had a VHS. I just knew it was a horror movie and those were considered cool at the time so I asked if I can record and watch. Surprisingly it was OK with my parents, despite me being much too young. Why? Because a week earlier we had seen E.T. on TV and when they heard alien they thought it was something like E.T. :stongue:
Watched it the next day with a friend... bricks were shat... :nervous:
:haha: :haha: LOL, you mustn't have slept for a week in the dark after that :)
I remember seeing Alien, but I think I saw The Thing before that, so my stomach could handle it.

Catching it tonight. Not sure if someone's already posted the paper version of the trailer, but here it is, apparently.
:p

Hilarious! :stongue:
My lame phone browser doesn't have the plug-ins for me to see previews of embedded videos, but I had a hunch that that's what you posted. What's proper forum etiquette in this case? Delete my post?

Edit a previous post of yours to include the video and then accuse Acton of re-posting!

To ignore everything Hal says.

So I caught the movie overnight. It had an excellent premise, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't somewhat disappointed. I'll try to keep this brief & COR friendly.
- excellent storyline
- breathtaking visuals
- quite limited action & suspense sequences
- slow, and even dull at times, aside from the visuals
- shrieking sound from the trailers isn't in the movie at all (which was probably the biggest disappointment :p)
Verdict: I'd give it an 81%, because of how intriguing the plot is, but I completely understand why rotten tomatoes gave it a 74%. The visuals just aren't enough to keep you distracted from how bored you may feel at times. Many people left the theater afterwards, unsatisfied. The film is quite anticlimactic, considering not just the hype it's gotten, but the fact that it's a big budget sci-fi film.
Your best bet: mushrooms. lots of mushrooms.

people saying its slow is making me more eager to actually watch it, could be scott going back to his Blade Runner days.
