| What's with all the hype for this? Hasn't really caught my interest, yet. Oh boohoo, it's by Ridley Scott and has something to do with Alien. So what? His last two movies were crap and so far this looks like standard SciFi. |

| Yeah, I agree that his last couple movies have been . This looks good to me, though. I'll probably catch it in theaters. The cast is exciting imo. |

I am just hyped because I look forward to the tie-ins with the original Alien that are guaranteed to be seeded throughout the movie. I trust Scott to contribute canon with caution - it says enough he sought to do a prequel that might create some interesting mythology, rather than Alien 5 or something really brash (that he could have ing gotten away with). It's total fanboy fare, but I still think it's a pretty significant setting from the annals of science fiction cinema. |

It's going to be cool; you can already see Alien references in the trailers. This movie is going to be badass. |

I don't really keep up with mainstream cinema, but from the looks of it the "big draw" is the fact that it looks absolutely over-the-top, like Transformers and other summer blockbusters. People are sheep. It's nothing new :o |

Dunno, I've only ever seen the first Transformers and that's because it was an in-flight movie on my way back from I <3 Techno, years ago. The trailers for the other two Transformers films looked like ... will have to finish this thought some other time. For now, sleep... |

The original Alien is one of my favorite movies.
I just watched the long trailer and you get that "eerie" feel, just like with the Alien movie. |

Well, there surely are a number of fanboys around who even eat up crap like BSG (hi PKC!  ) so the hype really shouldn't surprise me. :) |
