Prometheus, epic stuff (pg. 23)

Finally watched the movie on-line. It was crap. I just don't think it's a recipe for blockbuster success when you leave the audience with more questions than answers after making them sit through a 2 hour speel with nothing but black goo killing off your characters, even if some of them are indeed annoying as . Anyways, most of the problems I have with this movie have already been mentioned in this thread, so I'll refrain from repeating them. But I think the script writers should have done a better job explaining why the Engineers wanted to wipe out the human race in the first place, rather than leaving it up for grabs in another piss poor sequel that will only extend the prequel :conf:. That said, I think the only thing Ridley Scott accomplished was creating some more elaborately designed sets, costumes and futuristic technology. However, that alone does not constitute an epic film.

In the UK the Blu-Ray disc was launched recently, I noticed about a 1000 comments on the distributor's FB page of people slagging it off.

I watched this movie on a flight to the US and can't say I didn't enjoy it. Ok, it's sci-fi with some plot holes indeed but it makes you think about society, space and how mankind is suppose to proceed into the forthcoming centuries.

The most questionable point of this movie is why the engineer got so damn pissed when he got woken up from his cryostasis! I actually googled a fair bit to find out what other people think on this but nothing is conclusive. I'd be curious to know whether this will be answered in either the deleted scenes or a sequel.

Apparently people don't have as high standards as yourself

You shouldn't need high standards to see the writing throughout the entire thing was just ing atrocious.

I tried sparking a discussion/awareness of the pre-Lindelof script.
And that one wasn't very atrocious.

Yeah its pretty much same level as "the Room"

Original ALien was sheer class. This is one for the tiny mind.
