Minus all of the bs getting in on Saturday afternoon I had a really fun weekend out. I'd def go again next year as long as the lineup decent.
Fav sets of the weekend for me belonged to Lawler (Saturday) & Fanciulli (Sunday).
Good times ...
Provided by Fanciulli, one of my favs of the summer ^^^
ps. Anyone go to the Loft party this morning? I heard rumors of some big names dropping by but I was waaaaay too tired to make it out.

Was happy to make the trip for the weekend. You Canadians sure know how to jam thats for sure. Cant get enough of the city and the people. Saturday was such a blast, ran into so many people that i have not seen in years. Great to see everyone. Was my first time seeing Hawtin, Lawler and Gerber so my expectation were very high just from all I have read about these guys. Gerber def had some good flow, was really into him. Lawler was ok...wasntbad i guess. Hawtin def had some slow points but i thought the last 30 minutes of his set was some of the best I have heard. Yes, my first time seeing him so you must know how I feel. Was really impressed with Hawtin and was for sure my favorite set of the weekend.
Sunday we managed to walk over to the main stage for about 5 minutes.Heard some really ty electro and never went back. Caught alitle bit of London Electricity at the bass stage which was really impressive. Im often too picky when it comes to DnB and they were sounding really old school which is the only way for DnB IMO. Spent almost the whole day at the beach stage. Everyone talked so highly of Art Department. Wasnt too impressed. Perfect setting for C&C. I thought their set Sunday was way better then Surfcomber in Miami. I enjoyed their set a lot. Mark Knight was ok. Like someone said earlier he did lack flow. Nic was awesome!!! Huge buildups! First time seeing him and would pay to see him again for sure. I only saw Carlo Lio up there for about 30 minutes or so. I was expecting him to close it out by himself after seeing Dubfire up there for so long by himself. Would of loved to see Carlos name behind the stage where it just said Dubfire the whole time. Dubfire kept me moving but would of liked to hear Carlo play more. Overall the music was very enjoyable.
I thought the echo beach stage was just the perfect setting for a party. Loved seeing the skyline behind the stage. Just perfect atmosphere for a party.

Holy I can't believe the size of the crowds - where did all of those people come from?

I had an amazing time both days! So much fun with everyone and sick music!
A quick overview my "events" lol. Day 1, took off shoes to go bare foot in the sand, after dark my shoes were gone and only my socks (which were stuffed in my shoes) were in it's place (so someone took them out and took my shoes lol). Walked out barefoot to the GO Train with friends to take it back to Oakville where my car was. Got there and realized my car keys were gone (no idea when or where I lost them). Had my friends sister pick us up to go get her car, then she drove us from Oakville all the way to Cambridge where I live (it was about 4:30am by this time). Then we realized my friend didn't have the keys to HIS car that was parked at my house (or his house keys), because he left them in MY car (which was parked in Oakville still since I had no keys). So we had to call a tow truck to break in his car and get his garage door opener so he could at least get in his house. Then I had to get driven to my dads house to get my spare house keys (waking him up at 5am), got in my house at about 5:30am and made sure to get my spare car keys to get my car the next day lol. About 5 hours sleep later we were headed to Toronto again for day 2 haha. To top it off at the end, my sunglasses fell in a porta potty just before I was leaving to come home after day 2 lol.
All in all, I had a friggin AWESOME time though! The music was amazing, the people were super fun, I loved checking stuff out and hanging with everyone. I'd do it again in a second! :D

what's up TOTA !!!!
made it back to nyc a few hours ago and just woke up from a lil nap
review:
sat- got there around 4:30ish only to see a stupid long line, lucky for me tho my wristband was mailed to me so i walked right in, but i felt sorry for anyone who had to wait in that WOW 3 hours is nuts.
once inside headed over to the techno beach and the sound there was incredible all weekend long holy . crisp, loud and clear
music wise i started off with guy gerber, he did alot better than previous times i seen him
my fellow brooklynite boris was up next and played a pretty solid set of some classics, tech house and nyc house
first time seeing lawler in a while after alot of hit or miss set's from him but he redeemed himself. guy was hammering it out probly the set of the day for me personally. last up was hawtin, to me his set was not the greatest. i had really high hopes for him since canada is his homeland and the first festival in toronto. his first 30 min was very experimental then outta no where he started to bring the techno thunder!!!! ha ha but a lil after that it was up and down
it was a good set once he started going but ive seen alot better from him.
sunday:
came there early to catch the soccer match. wow what a fukin joke of a set-up. 10 40 inch tv's under a tent directed towards the sun and 3 or 4 picnic tables? lololol madddd bootleg and to top it off the tent was positioned right next to the dnb stage ughhhhhh what a headache
caught some of art department, that had a good 30 min or so of a solid set but after that they were gettin boring and dull i was dreading it. c&c were up next and def picked it up and played a good set, their set could have been a lil harder and tribalish but for the outdoor setting it was good, really good vibe in there. mark knight was up next and i was expecting all electro bs, but he played some good house tracks not a bad set at all tba. nic came on and did a good job as well.
lio and dubfire b2b? what a joke of a term that was. lio should have stayed on, guy came on and from the get go he was belting it the out, after like 30 or 45 min dubfire comes on and decides to start from scratch and slow it down and build it all back up again. terrible what a buzz kill, i left after about an hour into his set i couldnt take no more lol
overall the festival was a great experience, the techno beach stage had amazing sound and layout. the crowd was sooooooo mature and music driven, great vibes and i didnt see one person drugged out...infact i didnt even get asked if i needed any drugs lol
the main stage was a disaster tho...maddd young s wearing neon,i <3 molly shirts (lol ha ha ha) and jut clueless kids thinking afrojack is the greatest dj to ever walk the planet.
the difference in crowds betweeen to the 2 stages was night and day
some thing i felt they could have improved on...
stock up on more heiniken. wtf both days they were sold out by like 8:30 and they were one of the sponsors. i felt terrible knowing i was gonna have to pay $9 to drink a coors light ughhh
other than that i liked the fact they had mixed drinks at bars, good food trucks and cooling stations, cause the sun was def beating down
such good weather ahhhh
funnyest part of the weekend i was at the main stage for a few and some kid comes up to me and asks me for directions to the bathroom, so iam pointing him the way, all of a sudden his friend tries to be sneaky and place a "sex, drugs & dubstep" sticker on my back. i turn around and catch him, i looked it and at him i told him your a straight up douchebag, unreal lolol
one a final note, no matter how much fun i had at the festival between the music and vibe the most important factor was the people
