So you'd need rhadoo to get your juices going before you got hammered by black Cox huh. |

This place is so much fun! This is what WMC used to feel like before it became so commerical and expensive. Super friendly crowds, people who want to get down and affordable VIP wristbands that literally let you skip lines that are city blocks long with no issues and zero wait time. The wristbands allowed us to bounce from event to event, leave and come back whenever!
Fri night was Lawler, which was sick.
Sat night left Richie Hawtin when the last track dropped around 7am. Hawtin destroyed it at Blue Parrot. Open air Palapa style venue, 80 degrees on the ocean...big big soundsystem and a crowd that would not leave!
Carl Cox....I must tell you, I'm a big fan of Carl. Literally his appearance during this BPM is what put me over the edge in attending this year.
Sadly, Sunday wasn't on point for Carl. His set (partially) was being broadcasted on Ibiza Sonica radio, which had an impact IMHO on track selection and the like.
His edits and bootleg remixes that makes Carl shine were absent. No real "wow" moment tracks. The crowd was into it, but I was left disappointed.
Richie Hawtin made Carl look like a rookie this weekend, which really surprised me. Both technically and reading the crowd.
Tonight is Guy Gerber and my last night going to parties. Looking forward to hearing Gerber and his label mates. Full update tomorrow. |

| Don't waste your money on what appears to be fancy restaurants. Just stick with tacos and your set! |

If you do try a fancy meal....go to this place "Xulam" I enjoyed our meal there....you can order insects to eat, or a cool drink they call the "Mayan Sacrifice" where they pour a drink on fire down your throat with a funnel.

We went there and loved it! Really good and unique place.
Our favorite hands down is the Impervist. Lawler ate there with his crew and tweeted about it so we gave it a try. Hands down best meal we ate in Playa |

lots of sickness happened. crazy how many times we heard someone was sick. hell, even our hotel neighbors got sick. we got sick on our relaxing day which was the day before we left. sucked @$$!!!!
other than that great time! Luciano, Loco Dice and Sasha were awesome! we had no use for wristbands since we didnt go to many parties but getting presales would have been good. paid 70 the 1st night for Luciano, 60 for Loco and only 30 for Sasha...thats pp.
great environment! friendly people. Mexicans wanted to buy us drinks/beers since we were in their country. sure, ok!:gsmile: I find this better than WMC by far! not sure if we can do this again anytime in the future. this happens between 2 conventions for my hubby. if he can survive this one coming up, then maybe, just maybe we can go next year. |

i managed not to get sick but yep sure heard of a ton of people that did.
did you buy your tickets at the door? i thought maybe you could but them at the bpm ticket store too ahead of time.
Sasha was less as that was a daytime party... all nighttime parties were more expensive.
I thought Loco Dice was a huge disappointment... as did the majority of people i spoke with. The last 2 hours of his set were good but the first 4 or so were so boring that the good part at the end didn't make up for the time invested to get there. At one point we were so bored we left the party for a while before returning... upside to the bracelets! |

yea, we bought our tickets at the door each time. we thought since we get the on the gl here most of the time, it was ok to pay the prices we did. drink prices were cheap compared to here. my long beach iced teas were like $8.
I had no expectations for Loco Dice, maybe thats why I had a good time. we left around 7, we were done! the vibe at Sasha was great! |
