Water yes but most energy drinks actually cause dehydration so leave them home.

Gatorade isn't an energy drink.

Stop clubbing. Take zumba classes instead.

Although, you're a DJ, so it may not be the wisest advice. Still though, that's how I roll.

I've done 12hrs + on many occasions, totally sober.

What did you in the hours prior to the party? Sleep? I never seem to have time to get a few hours rest before the party. I can't sleep if I'm not tired, no matter how hard I try.

Come to think of it, I've done 11 hours on several occasions, but all those were festivals. Start at noon, end at 11pm. Have a seat now and then (and eat), but still be dancing most of the time. Sometimes even go to the after party. But even then there's plenty of time to rest so it all adds up.

The last time I did 24hrs+ it started a few hours after I woke up and consisted of an afternoon, evening and a early morning after party, so I did manage to sleep before hand, so to speak.

I've done many 12hr parties after 12hrs of work, though..... they're the hardest ones.

That we did. :)
When was the last time we partied together? Vibe? Howells? Piknic?.. it was eons ago, and the last time I went out clubbing in MTL was the reopening of Stereo. :wtf: , and only went out twice after that. This is a travesty. :o

First off, damn, 11 hours is a long time.

I regularly go out and dance all night long quite hard (with maybe a 2-3 20 minute breaks) for 7 hours with no drugs or caffiene (half the time either, and either works equally well). However, still, goddamn... 11 hours!

My advice would be, if possibly take a couple of 1 hour breaks where you're sitting down talking to people, I don't know if that's possible at the sortof venues you're going to though. It certainly is possible at raves and some types of clubs, but possibly not some other indoor venues.

Also, alcohol will almost certainly make it harder to keep going, any amount at all will. However don't drink more than 1-2 drinks at a time and no more than 5 the entire night.

Also, if you're going to be taking caffiene there's a few things to remember. First off, red bull, take 100mg caffiene pills so you get to choose exactly how much you're taking (and can take a stupidly high amount if you wish). My advice would be to learn when taking them makes you more tired and when it's a good idea. Don't take more than 2 per hour, and no more than 10-12 per night. Also bear in mind that unless you eat food caffiene stops working after a while (this applies to speed sometimes too btw). So if you can eat some meat at some stage and possibly have 2 litres of a sugarey drink or something. BTW, the caffiene dosage is for someone (like me) who hardly ever and I mean almost never has caffiene otherwise. Obviously the effects change (and not just diminish) for regular coffee drinkers so you'd need to experiment to see what works for you.

I've gotta go now but I'll post some more advice in a couple of hours.
