I am talking all there music, however the op said that Daft Punk did the coachella show in 2007, & that previous to that they did not have a show in 10 years. That would mean 2007 - 10= 1997. He stated that the audience that Daft Punk had previously (in 1997) carried over to 2007. I agreed, the audience they have, which was akin to the audience of Barbie Girl did follow them, they are the basis of what is "EDM" now.

daft Punks career is built on cheese music, theor second single was "Da Funk", a cheese song that is known for its video. LOl at this being amazing output lol, is Culture Beat amazing output as well?

Can you post other songs from that album? Do you know other songs from that album? DO YOU?

let's remove the commercial hits of Around The World, and Da Funk from this entire argument, and say you win on that, they are both euro commercial success and hits and were played world wide often before or after Aqua. So, let's remove those tracks from the equation. Let's concentrate on the rest of the album, and give me your bull uneducated retort and reason on why they are not paramount in their influence on "electronic music".

Sure, electronic music existed before them, kraftwerk, disco, techno... they made a new sound, nu disco influence with electronic sounds creating music. Electronic Music.

AVH, yeah, he sampled, remixed and made it huge, wildly sucessful for many years.

And EVERYONE samples... the guy rocking out on a new punk track, sampled the riff from somewhere, but recomposed it probably to sound different.

I do not mind if people who do not know what they are talking about laugh, the joke is on them. I will show you

You just said that Daft Punk created "Nu Disco" that is another term for Urban Disco House right? (Remember you just agreed with the person you laughed at)LOL. Now tell me why is it Electronic if you called it "Nu Disco"?

Also why are mentioning Disco, & Tehcno with Electronic music? Those are different things, Daft Punk comes from the roots of Disco, Techno does is a sub genre of electronic music, but it is not electronic music.

Electronic music for the most part doesn't sample, it is different. AVh didn't make big remixes or sample, he stole a whole song, & concept for the song "You Dont Know Me", that is very well documented, also he made "Barbara Strisand", & Big Bad Wolf", he cannot talk on the subject.

They have no influence on electronic music, because they are not electronic music, the 10 years that built electronic music to the point of Coachella they were not part of.

Why would I remove the songs that made you want to pick up Daft Punks album? I know their album well, it is mostly cheese, & I know you got that album, beside your Aqua album. So please spare me your lecture, you already have shown your knowledge of music.

1) I said nu disco influence, and actually I meant italo-disco, my bad
2) If you don't see any connection from Disco and Techno, you're retarded
3) AVH created amazing speed garage sounds from small samples, one of the most famous remixes in the world, his Professional Widow remix for Tori Amos was a small snippet reworked and that sound devastated.

And for S SAKE... if it's music, created predominantly with electronic sounds and instruments, just call it electronic music. I don't in' care.

I own it, 100% 3 times on CD after replacing it so many times, own it on vinyl, and numerous singles from that album on vinyl and CD singles. And they all rocked dancefloors when played. And it's probably in my top 3 albums of all time, if not number 1.

It seems you cannot even name the genre that Daft Punk supposedly pioneered, mainly because they have never pioneered anything. Please enlighten me on the connection between Disco, & Techno.

AVh is a known thief of music who rips off whleo songs, his output includes "Big Bad Wolf" & "Barabra Streisand", he is part of the Ny house, & garage scene, but he has never been part for electronic music ever, he is not even welcome within real House music circles.

Electronic music is much more than instruments, maybe you should learn what it is before you try to define it to others, but if you listen to sounds Daft Punk does not use many electronic sounds, they use sampled disco sounds.

Why are you running from the conversation? I guess you cannot back up your statements. You said Daft Punk pioneered a genre, I asked you what genre , & you cannot even name it. You said people would laugh at my interpretation of Daft Punk like when i said they do Urban Disco House music, I think you said they make "Nu Disco" lol.

In this conversation you are the stubborn, & uneducated one because I showed you proof that Daft Punk is akin to Aqua, & that they are both cheese acts. Also how can I be the one uneducated on electronic music, & its history, & influence when you do not even know what electronic music is, & called Disco electronic?

Show me some facts that show what I said was incorrect.

Daft Punk were popular long before Kanye West sampled their song. What Kanye did was just give them crossover exposure to other genres. They were big LONG before Kanye worked with them.

From Wikipedia:

Daft Punk reached significant popularity in the late 1990s house movement in France and met with continued success in the years following, combining elements of house with synthpop.[1][2][4]

Reference from Homework - 1997 Album

Homework is the debut studio album released by French electronic music duo Daft Punk in January 20, 1997. Considered a blend of house, techno, acid, funk and occasionally hip-hop, its success brought worldwide attention to French progressive house music and incited interest in French touch music, as several touch artists gained influence from Homework's style.[5] According to The Village Voice, the album revived house music and broke free from the "Euro[dance] formula".

And now, a definition of "Electronic Music"

Electronic music is music that employs electronic musical instruments and electronic music technology in its production. In general a distinction can be made between sound produced using electromechanical means and that produced using electronic technology

Clearly, all of Daft Punk's music is electronic in nature. There are no instruments in the world that can make sounds that they use in their productions. While it might not fit in with what you define as electronic music, that doesn't change the fact that it is.

Daft Punk is akin to Aqua, Barbie Girl, & Around The World

Aqua is the producer, Barbie Girl is the song. Stop making yourself look stupid by using examples that don't make any sense. Even this should technically be considered electronic music, as it uses electronic instruments in it's production, and really is just an evolution of the "dancier" parts of techno music, and through natural evolution came to be what it was.

In Closing: Stop being so damn jaded about your opinions of electronic music. It's a lot more vast than you seem to realize, and there's nothing wrong with disliking some of it. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it shouldn't be classified as what you like.

To the normal folk of TA: I know I'm feeding a troll, but I found this fun. Leave it at that :)
