| You can still have your music in other folders in your pc...it doesn't take up any more space to have them stored in itunes as well. Like, once you start using itunes you aren't stuck using it exclusively for file management. |

I'm aware of that, but I already have my library synched with Spotify, and it's constantly losing files because I've moved them, demanding I import them over again. I tolerate its backchat because Spotify also gives me access to millions of online tracks, but iTunes does no such thing. |

| Yeah but its still a hassle und if you want different id3 tags for your player it becomes a ing mess. |

I don't want to transfer my music to the ing iTunes library. I want to download or render a file and just throw it on my ing MP3 player without having to go through some ty program. I move my music around in folders a lot because I do a lot of editing and mixing of tracks, and I'm constantly creating project folders, cutting and pasting tracks, rendering new files. Having to consult some overbearing piece of corporate e everytime I do any of this is too much. Why should I have to install another program that serves no purpose not already fulfilled by software I already have installed, and just eats up RAM and periodically demands to be updated?
Is there really no alternative? |
I've just said there is :conf:
There's a Wikipedia page (of all places) full of alternatives, actually. |

I meant to buying an iPod. The installation of some 3rd party software over the official program is not what I had in mind. Although this kind of bull is exactly why I ing hate iTunes:

I just want to drag and drop my files. What's the ing problem, Apple? |

For better or for worse, Apple are very keen on keeping you in their ecosystem. They give you little say in how to use their products, and it's been for as long as I've had to use anything by them.
I can't offer alternatives, but if you want to leave it stock, there isn't much hope. |
