to whoever said the cowon sounded so much better. Not that you could tell unless you were listening to acoustic music mixed a k-12 setting with 500 $ headphones in a quiet room and you were under the age of 16.

Ipod touch for comparison

It's a portable music player, how much extra equalisation do you really need when you're outdoors? :conf:

Hes just talking Lira. The ipod sounds fine. Maybe hes talking about first generation devices or something, which is not really relavent. You dont really need equalization with some good easy to drive headphones. OH GOD THIS 1KHZ BAND, ITS JUST LIKE 1DB TO LOW FOR ME< THROWS IPOD ON GROUND.

F' that, the multi-channel EQ on my Sony's bliss!:whip:

your sony doesn't have a multi channel eq.

Anyone can program an app for ipod to provide parametric eqs good enough to mix a pop album. The only comparison regarding quality that anyone should care about would be the DAC. And given the setting of most listening, you just aren't going to be able to tell unless you are running it to monitors in a treated room.

Long Answer

As far as i know, iPod Classic is the mp3 player with the higher storage capacity, 160Gb. And, in my opinion, it was the best mp3 player ever made. The problem is, it's ing big and i don't even know if iTunes can identify/recognize them anymore.

With the size problem and with the constant technological progress of mobile devices (read smart phones) these kind of mp3 players were losing space. So the solution was decrease their size (therefore the storage capacity) and add new technologies to make them 'cool', such as internet access, video player, touch screen, camera, hologram, teletransport....

What you want Jack, is basically the opposite of what the market wants. Unfortunately.

Short Answer

There's no such device. You'll have to wait a few more years.

cowon 7x is 160gb

short answer; sure there is

I'm sure someone in Japan is already walking around with a 1TB external hard drive plugged in his walkman and rocking it like a pro.

It's the next logical step.

Yes, i know they are selling iPod Classic but apparently 160gb is not enough for Jack.

yeah I kind of read that after my reply, mine was based on him conceding the point of having EVERYTHING on his player to 160gb being at least decent. I still don't see why iTunes wouldn't recognize Classic though?
