| so all the reviews i've heard all involve the stages being too close together so the sound was bleeding into all the stages, and various other bad things |

Pretty much spot on
Got dragged to Calvin Harris by one of my friends and couldn't hear the stage properly half way through the cluster that was the mainstage...
magnosis at the art car played a solid progpsy set though even though it was 40 minutes...enjoyed the hardstyle dude after for like 10 minutes before heading to CC + Loco Dice b2b |

I went both days and here are my thoughts:
Mainstage was probably the worst set up I've ever experienced at any festival I've been to. Not only did the sound bleed in from the stage right next to it, but the setup was speakers at the front and that was it. What this meant was that unless you were deep in the crowd, you could barely hear what was being played. I mean, you really could not hear a thing except jumbled noises from the other stages.
On Friday, the only time I was able to stay at Mainstage was for Eric Prydz. I had never seen him before and really wanted to see what all the fuss was about. I really wasn't impressed but this could also be because I've become disenchanted with that sound.
I stayed at ATB for about 20 minutes because my friends wanted to see him, but after feeling extremely claustrophobic, and then having him drop Smells Like Teen Spirit 2x... I had enough and abandoned my friends to check out Hawtin. Well worth it as he was still in the process of doing damage when I got there.
The 2nd stage set-up was even worse because of the angle. Even if you were right up front, you could still hear the dubstep stage very clearly, and Mainstage was at an angle where the speakers were pointing slightly towards you, so you could always hear a bleed in during any type of pause. Because of this, I never actually saw anyone there.
I really don't have any complaints at all about the Neon Garden stage. On Friday, I really enjoyed the Dubfire set. It was my first time seeing him and he didn't disappoint. Not only was the crowd way better at Neon Garden, but the sound system was by FAR the best in the festival. The speakers inside of the tent were great, and the outside had speakers as well so no matter how close you were it didn't matter. This also allowed for more room to actually dance. I spent all of Saturday there and just loved it. Loco Dice put on a great set and then Carl Cox followed up with an equally fantastic two hours.
The Cox-Dice B2B was fantastic and made the $150 weekend worth it on its own. I just wish they would have each played for an hour on their own and then done the b2b for 3 hours. Either way, amazing.
If I had been by myself and stayed at Neon Garden I would have thought the whole festival was an A+. Because I checked out the other stuff though, it really dropped my grade down. I'd give it a C on the whole. Not worth anything more than the price when they originally went on sale. |

I didn't leave "Neon" Garden for a second other than mark knight. Amazing time, but didnt feel like a festival -more like Richie and Carl's parties each day. (partly because the YOLOs were even worse this year)
I dont know what was wrong with me but i really wasnt feeling Dubfire's first 15-30 minutes but then i lost myself and got turned inside out a couple times over between him and richie.
Joe Brunnings new one - uncontrollable desire.
From 6-11 I feel like loco dice and carl play "thrust" like 4 times.
I got to say what up to richie, that was cool.
Edit:- Saying hi to richie and saying thanks was ing awesome. such a class act. |

Yikes, I think he might be on like year 5 or 6 of dropping that constantly at every gig. |
