i think the problem with festivals these days is they are just relying on hype cause of their name/brand for as long as possible
i remember ezoo's first year they didnt say anything till wmc and then like 2 weeks later they already had a massive quality line-up out that blew people away. today they announce the dates in like dec and dont do a line-up till whenever and they do it so slowwwww
as for tomarrowland. i honestly dont see it being anything as massive as the one in belgium for sure |

avoiding like the Zoo and spending your money on good events just makes it easier to consistently have a good time. |
This is pretty much where I'm at. I won't be around again for EDCNYC (nor do I care) but I will probably only do the afterparties for EZ this year, or maybe buy a one day pass IF there is a lineup that really floors me.

They pretty much all play this game now. I guess its a US thing though... I mean we had the lineup for LBF what, two weeks ago and that's in August?

Given the current state of how big and lucrative festivals are in the US right now, I wouldn't be surprised to see the opposite and see them go balls out. |

Um i don't see why this is getting the hate.
EDC events arent about the DJ's who are playing. Its about a total sensory experience. I can't believe people are comparing EDC to eZoo ? Who here went to electric zoo ? It was filled with little kids with molly hats and rage shirts. There was barely a "Zoo" experience at this place other than some lighting on the entrance trees. Have you seen the sets the DJ's played at eZoo? disgusting.
I'll be definitely heading to EDC NY this may. 18+ event, cool rides, circus-type experience with again, mature people to meet and interact with. DJ's will playing more melodic sets compared to Zoo/Ultra (less rage music). Also i need an EDC fix before vegas.
As much as i love the music... the experience, the people and the memories i make at these events matter more to me. |

not just saw, heard. just to name a few sasha, Liebing, carola, eoto, and totally don't agree with that assessment.
now, main stage, diff. story, but why even bother with it?
SS tent overall good
whats so mature about the fluff candy you mention? |

Sasha, Bayer, A&B friday night were some of the standouts at Zoo, don't get me wrong. But if your going to spend 350$ a ticket + travel etc. The mainstage has to have strong sets.
But i think you're taking what i am trying to denote out of context.
What i'm trying to say is that all ages festivals and age limited festivals are completely different from each other. I just came back from Ultra. It was an incredible time. But its clear after visiting Zoo and Ultra, the "plur vibes" and producer sets are watered down sheerly due to average demographic they are catering too [PRIME EXAMPLE: Dash berlin set of EDC:LV and eZoo]. It's become a rage vibe and rage music kinda thing. I remember being at hardwell, porter, kaskade. It was the same music/songs/excessive bass over and over and over.
Some people like it, I don't mind it to an extent, but i truely feel like i'll get an optimal experience from a 18+ events such as the ones Insomniac creates (I am 26yrs). Therefore i'll definitely be checking out EDCNY (hopefully not too much guidos! haha :P) |

| I dunno, when I'm at zoo I just go to the sunday school tent and really avoid all the teenies. At EDC last year it was one of the trashiest groups of people I've ever seen in my life. Both crowds are bad and I've just come to realize that I go with my group and stick with them. |

my point exactly.
as to the main stage comment above:
who cares who's up there when someone like Liebing or Luciano on at the same slot?
last year m-s, esp Sun., was a commercial horror show, esp.with the 30000 all crowding up front.... |

| FYI... it says "two night celebration under the electric sky" now. Going to take that as they're going the Vegas strategy of doing it at night? This is very good news. |
