FYI... it says "two night celebration under the electric sky" now. Going to take that as they're going the Vegas strategy of doing it at night? This is very good news. |
Wouldnt they announce this instead of keeping it a big secret, beside this is what i see on the event page ...
EDC returns to New York on May 17th & 18th for a two-DAY adventure at Citi Field. |

NYC has a strict curfew, I wouldn't look too into that, no way it's an all night event like Vegas.
On the plus side Carl Cox said he's gonna have his own stage. |

Well there goes a few people Ezoo would love to have, guessing Carl Cox, Loco Dice, Dubfire, Richie Hawtin, Nicole Moudaber |

It's possible that it will go later than last year, but not all night like Vegas. Ending at 1-2am is possible given the proximity to mass transit.
Regarding the Carl Cox stage...what is the source of the information and how credible is it? Did it come from CC himself? |

Since it is starting at 4pm there is some hope but I'll believe it when I see it.
Carl Cox tweeted he'll be there with his Mega Tent. If they will have an Ultra style Carl cox mega structure I may have to go. |

| I don't necessarily think NYC will have a similar line-up to Chicago. Chicago is new this year and, while a big city, still doesn't have the same market or competition for electronic music festivals that NYC does. Insomniac needs to keep pushing the bar higher to keep market share away from Electric Zoo, who has made their own adjustments with 2 stages. Insomniac will leverage its high paying contracts that DJs covet because it usually means they will get signed on to play multiple insomniac produced events meaning multiple pay-days. Regardless, if EDC fails to deliver, people will continue to move more towards Zoo if they have to choose between the two, although I'm not sure wtf zoo is thinking with their $375 tickets this year... |
