what do you mean 3:30? I left at 3:40 and he was still rocking
Mini review:
J00F was ing amazing!! Super awesome set and this guy is really feelin it when he's up there. You can tell that he's doing this out of love.
40East: where is the bass??? Sound system is very lacking, you gotta be in the center just to feel a little bass. Pachita's sound system was lacking but this is, sad to say, even worse. Over all I like this little underground vibe this place gives. Too much white for my tastes but it's part of the vibe, I guess. |

totally right, but what i did catch was mighty fine.
nice touch with the mushroom!
tho, what happened with the Time?
j00f only got 3:30, and was to go til 5?
place went to 8 for Capriati... |
he got on around 12:15 and played until 4.
but you showed up a little late this time, got there at 3:30 lol
thanks, but what mushroom you talking about brah?
review:
this was the first trance party i attended in a loooong time.
many were surprised to see me there. i just wanted to surprise them and show that i listen to all kinds of music like dj aldi.
the venue was eh, the sound was meh, the crowd was eh but the music was excellent. j00f kept it dark and progressive and didn't play uplifting trance which is what i always liked in trance.
i couldn't id any tracks all night like AY STAR but i did hear a remix of a ferry corsten track. i don't think rory is a big fan of this one.
nice seeing everybody out last night.
nice to meet you sedna, you got some cool dance moves.
kingchinc, nice seeing you again man. the first thing you told me was "what are you doing here?" i thought that was nice ;-)
armitage, nice meeting you too.
ps. the bar had no cold beer when i arrived and the coat check or the bar didn't have change either. they kept giving my change in all singles the first portion of the night. they had heinken later but then they ran out very quick. i thought it's important to actually have enough drinks for an event and keep them cold. this shouldnt be that hard right? |

He posted this a little while ago:
Thank you New York for turning out in force. Being honest I was faced with a plethora of technical difficulties, I had NO DJ monitors, the sound system needs tweaking and was boomy in places (I couldn't hear at all in the booth), I needed to update the equipment + more. These are all teething problems of a new club that will get ironed out over the next few weeks, so please continue to support these guys and club as they are offering something fresh and exciting in New York. We need this in New York! I'm going to personally advise and help them too.
It was because of you all on the dance floor I was able to get through these problems, the pure energy was outstanding. Thank you :) Lets get the return show sorted ASAP! |

Someone told me J00f start was 12:30, so thats where I got the 3 1/2h from, with the 4:05 finish. so it was+20 min.
Still, disappoints: read back this thread, even escala said it would go til 5, at Pachita would've been 4:30 close.
plus, j00F signaled he would've kept going...
I really hate it when places close things up earlier than announced, esp. when they go later other times.
yeah I was late, but not quite that bad, got there before three (which is why I was hoping for a good solid 2+ hours), must not have seen you guys for a while after...
set closer: Infected Mushroom's "Becoming Insane". First time Ive ever heard a DJ play this, good choice.
Sound well noted: I heard some IM on the Genesis system at the NYAS last week, this was a cartoon in comparison.
One good thing, no ear plugs needed last night
Glad to hear J00f is coming back, hoping sooner than later.
Dan, nice meeting you and your gf, hope you had a good ride home.
Someone else from here also said hi, but I really didn't catch who you are, chime in!
(sorry, I can be oblivious at shows :(, and it was that day...)
?: anyone buy water, was it still $8 like at Capriati? |

Great meeting everyone finally (CarS, Xpander, etc). Awesome ing set. I must say I did think the sound system was very lacking (probably because half of it lit on fire at one point).
Also, FIRST RULE OF CLUBS: Don't have white walls! Place looked sooo bright on the inside because of it. Could also use a lighting upgrade. But on the plus side the staff was great and I have high hopes that they'll make some improvements.
J00F's set was just plain incredible. He always blows my mind and I never expect any less from him. Just keeps delivering.
Awesome night all around. |

yea man his set was a real journey set
i loved how the opener played an OPENING set
joof came on and built it up from there
deep dark prog trance then some nice tech stuff and even some full on techno
his last hour was a lil too hard for my liking, but i still enjoyed it
he is such a cool guy, he is never gonna sell out for a status, money, fame, trophies etc etc
so glad i went to this party, hope it dont take him another few years to come back to nyc
i would love to see him spin at output
him in that room and on that system man oh man!
p.s what was the name of that timewave track he played? |

he closed with Becoming Insane in Miami also. My friend and I used to be huge IM fans and we went crazy when that record was played. I can't remember ever being so excited for a DJ to spin a particular record. |

so what happened, no more?
I do regret them ditching the guitar and all, but they still sound good.
Agree with your point about catching this track:
there are some no brainer outfits that get by far less spinning than you would think, IM is one of those, and Faithless as well, possibly Scooter too (situation fitting).... |
