I understand completely where you're coming from. The room itself is the best place to host these events in the city from a booking standpoint; a lot of these headliners are risky when it comes to filling a big room in their own club.
My main problem (other than the sound) is the lighting. It's SOOOOO bright in that room. It needs to be so much darker. So so so much darker. |
Ahhh yeah I guess I never thought about that either...it is really bright in there hahahaha |

Esscala says they've done their due diligence with other rooms... Cielo, Sullivan, etc. and they are always booked. They've built a rapport with Pachita and can probably pretty easily book there.
Yes the sound sucks compared to other places, the lighting isn't the best, but it does provide an intimate atmosphere to enjoy the music. People aren't allowed up there unless they have the ticket for this event, so the only people going are going for the DJ playing.
Guys like J00F, Solarstone, etc. aren't going to pack out a big room like the main floor of Pacha. |

exactly and all the other places cost an arm and and leg and trance fans don't drink enough to cover bar minimums....pachita is the only place the moment...people with bigger wallets might have other options but even then if the crowd wont fit the room its just as bad as not affording the bill
escalla definitely has done their homework and I agree that sticking with pachita is their best option for a bit now... |

Thanks for the support, yea we have been keeping our eye open for options but this is a good place for now, given the crazy bar guarantees asked for by some places... Wasn't gonna bring up the trance fans dont drink bit, but since Sam did haha, yeah trance fans dont seem to drink...
But you guys make an interesting point about the lighting, we can talk to Pacha... seems like thats a 'fixable' issue maybe make it a little dimmer. |

| I always thought Pachita was highly under utilized... |

| who cares about the venue? esscala is doing something we have been wanting to see for a while, bringing in the quality dj's. they will eventually get better venues in future. |

| I have no problems with the venue, Pachita was better than expected when I caught Max Graham there. I prefer it to a lot of other venues such as National Underground, Sullivan Room etc. Nothing against those venues but I prefer Pachita. |

I don't, necessarily. I can't say I've ever had a bad time at an Esscala party at Pachita. I may lament the sound system, but that's the only part really.
Media guys have some issues with Pacha because they are stupid about some things, but beyond that it works for me.

While on this topic... when Pachita starts charging $10 for a Heineken and $15-17 for top shelf mixed drinks... that's why I don't spend the money. No offense. |
