Now you're getting me excited. Especially the sound bit. Output freaking spoiled me and I went there only once so far.

i think the only place to come close with sound wise to output in nyc is either cielo or marquee
not saying this clubs sound will suck but the system at output is def the tops

hope the room is nice and will have room to dance and not be a cluster with tables
Armitage350
I cannot make any promises for them or the end results, especially compared to the lofty levels about what I've heard about Output, but at least they are listening and making moves.

exactly, thats the most important thing.
as much as I agree with the F1 comments above, it's not the only solution, actually given its age, Pacha's system is holding up well. The sub integration under the stairs is still a good one.

As to Marquee, I'd agree with Andrew and give Output the edge, which is actually strange in that M.'s is a bigger version of O.'s. Maybe they didn't do a proportional scale up, as per the larger room?
Personally, think it's the electronics, not the transducers, accounting for the diff.
(only been to Marquee twice, so have to qualify by that...)
ViciousPanda
Been to Marquee once, so one and one for me so far... since we're comparing our club endeavors and all, lmao.

but yeah, to my deaf ears Output's system outshines Marquee's, but as you guys say, it's no slouch either, I was really impressed too. But when you hear Output's system you know you're hearing something else..

Armitage's words of wisdom nail it, though. I really hope Esscala is doing it right and if the place is better and the sound is better then I'm all for it.

Does the new place have a strict dress code? What's the line like? I'm getting a pretty ty impression of the venue from the yelp reviews.

I'm pretty sure you can throw those out since it sounds like it'll be under new management. Esscala wouldn't risk alienating it's fan base moving somewhere where dress codes and the like would apply. They understand the Trance scenes low maintenance habits for the most part.

And CarS no I have not ventured to either Output or Marquee yet. I wanted to see Carl Cox there but couldn't swing it on a Wednesday night.

or maybe it'll be one way for events like this, where the promoter has more sway, as opposed to other nights, where they go more club.
fine by me, but lets just see...

Most of the reviews you are reading are for the venue that occupied the space previously. Let's try to be optimistic about this until we experience it for ourselves :)

Tickets are still available by the way! ;)
