Is anyone else obsessed with this story?
I'm not talking about the root of his leaks or what he disclosed, I'm talking about the story of being on the run, literally applying for asylum and basically camping out in the transit area of the airport.
Like the details of his day to day (ala tom hanks the terminal), is he eating crackers with ketchup? is he brushing his teeth in the bathroom? is he using wet paper towels to shower?
Maybe it's something a bit more "mission impossible"? Is WikiLeaks sending him some on-the-go hollywood face changing tool? does he have some special SAT phone? Has he already escaped the transit terminal?
Even more crazy to hear Bolivia's Presidential Plane being denied airspace in France/Portugal and is forced to re-route and land in Austria! Did they execute some secret extraction? Is he hidden in a weird wing compartment in the plane? Was this a diversion?
All of this is cray if you ask me and it's unfolding before us. Even moreso, France wants to suspend free trade talks with the US now...

Maybe now but I don't think he was doing spy like this as an analyst or a communications officer. |

| im confused, obama assured the world that he sees no reason to get hands on involved trying to take a simple 29yr old hacker into custody, further he didnt think snowden was worthy of his attention or having obama ask any other country to stop and return snowden. So i guess this either means obama lied again, or perhaps this was done by more rougue low level employees without his knowledge, and he just read it in the paper. Frankly either explanation works with obama! |

I also find it intriguing that today wikileaks tweeted that they found hidden microphones in the embassy where Assange is hiding out, correlation perhaps? |

Massive stupidity and simple mindedness are bringing this country down. Most of the people I know who are 100% American Non-Jewish but WASPS think 'who cares if they are spying on me, I'm not doing anything wrong'. I tell them, you're missing the point, our freedoms are gradually been eroded. You're too ing comfortable to care, and the media takes care of the rest. Washington is out of control.
I think this is it -- I was quite optimistic about America 2012-early 2013. King Dollar, sequester, etc. in spite of Obama's re-election; but, it's difficult to defend a country that day-after-day acts like a megalomaniac two-face ****.
Obama promised to close Guantanamo, we're almost six-seven years overdue. Health care reform, what do we get?! A botched-up dictatorial train-wreck. Benghazi?! An extension and amplification of the patriot act? The war on Coal?! The list goes on, and now this. Obama promised to take 'matters into his own hands' if Syria used chemical weapons? And what does he do, he backpedals on NSA issues while on a multi-million dollar tour, providing Africa with billions in aid, while poverty in America escalades (about 30% of the population are living just above the poverty line).
The country that once stood for democracy and freedom, is now a country doomed by an overinflated bureaucratic government that oppresses it's citizens with fear. Where politicians no longer act on behalf of those who elected them, but on greed: re-election.
Images from Cairo are only visions of what we might witness in this country, but sometimes I question the spirit of the Millenial/Generation-Z American. Indoctrinated by a crippling left wing unionized education system divided by racial conflicts and cultural bias. Will these people ever rise against their own oppressive government? Do they have the courage to take a stand? |

| He was pretty brave to do what he did. I hope he gets safe passage to a safe country and can one day return to his homeland, reunite with his family, and live among his people peacefully. |
