To be fair, i saw Levon Vincent last year at Lux Fragil (Lisbon) and it was indeed slightly boring.
Crowd was great tho. Portuguese people know how to party ;) |

Went to Output for the first time a few weeks ago, to see who else but Sasha? I took my girlfriend out for her first serious house/techno clubbing experience.
Well, Output is definitely really cool. I appreciate the 'no cameras', 'limit use of cellphones' policy... kinda forces people to be a bit more social and focused on the music. There's a small coffee shop in the lobby, getting an espresso right before a clubbing experience that ends at 6AM is great when you get to my age.
The place is smaller than I expected, but the crowd was mostly music affectionados. It got really packed relatively quickly, we started near the stage and eventually ended up near the back of the dancefloor. Luckily, the mezzanine floor was much less packed, so we hung out there for most of the night.
Sasha played a pretty good set, certainly more melodic than some of the times I've seen him recently (he played more dark and techy with Digweed at this past EZoo). A few tracks got into noodly acid techno or drumcode type stuff, but the majority of it had a bit of melody. Favorite track played out was "Crayon Muncher" by Richie Blacker, something reminiscent of the good 'ol early 2000's days. We stayed for nearly all of the set, leaving a few minutes early to beat the rush of people to the coat check.
Girlfriend had a wonderful time, too, and definitely wants to go back to Output! Which is awesome, since most of the women I've dated have detested it when I took them to dance music shows. |

| Man, looking back around the time I first made this thread (2014), that was basically my peak of going out. I still like dancing, I just don't like the current mainstream sound of techno. There's generally a good lineup at Berghain every 2-3 months that it'll hit up other than that... I've been trying to hit up some more of those parties from the Perlon/CDV universe because they play a lot of music I like (old tech house, detroit techno etc.) but I'm always too lazy for that , especially if the parties are at night. (lol, that's a very Berlin thing to say :p) |

I still go out about once a month on average, plus smaller live shows / stuff in bars in between. The level's stayed pretty much constant for the last five years. Having a big night out to look forward to is like going on holiday for me. If I ever give it up I think I will miss the excitement and anticipation too much. It's still the thing that gets me up in the morning.
In the next few months I'll be seeing: Andrew Weatherall, John Digweed (hopefully better than the last time), Jeremy Olander, potentially KiNK, and I'm trying to convince my girlfriend we should go to Barcelona in June to catch Lee Burridge at Off Sonar. |

| Im an old man so I cant go out as much as I used to. But nowadays I generally will rave proper 2-3 times a year and go out to shows another 6-7 times a year without raving proper. A little less than one time per month. I honestly feel like a big issue is there is too much shows. So you get lazy and say Ill go to another one. |

Sadly I think I've lost that anticipation excitement a bit. B12 played the big Berghain ambient Halle on new years (very good set btw, both of them played and it sounded like unreleased old material), 5 years ago I would've been in giddy anticipation for months for that but I was like "eh, sounds nice, I guess I'll take it". |
