If alcohol negatively impacts your life in any way, you are an alcoholic.
When it comes to how alcoholism is defined, that's about the biggest umbrella you're going to hear about.
It's not just about dependency, fellas. That's just one - albeit extreme - form of alcoholism. |

I even drank with him many occasions and he seemed to be a moderate drinker. What I didn't know was that before we'd arrive, he'd usually done a bottle of vodka or wine. |

I've had almost the entire month of January off and since the weather has been so , all I've been doing is meeting up with friends for drinks. Number one, going out and getting drunk is not even as fun when there are no obligations to do anything else. Number two, it's actually kind of embarrassing being out two-three times a week. Like Wtf, I' m not a college student anymore, lol.
:/
Edit: oh God I just remembered two bottles of wine were delivered to me yesterday. I should probably open one. |

I'm familiar with the guidelines of 21 units a week (seen it before) and I accept that the reality is it is probably risky to drink beyond that (although I imagine there is a range in risk of negative health effects based on genetics).
Still, to me it seems like such a low amount (and a unit isn't even equal to a full drink?!) I mean even if it was 3 shots/beers whatever a day 7 days a week that still seems really low, but a unit is considered even lower then that apparently. |
