Heh. I used to think the Frankfurt School was so out of touch with the working class that the "new" left depicted here would be the inevitable result. However, I've seen an interview where Herbert Marcuse flat out says that he not once had planned to move on from working class concerns when questioned on the topic.

So, another theory is that the new left is more of a counter reaction to traditional authoritarian Marxism a la the USSR in its heyday. This because women, ethnic minorities and queer people tended to still get the short end of the stick in similar ways to reactionary societies here (Marx infamously did not think especially highly of black people, for instance, and then from there you start wading into Strasserism and NazBol).

It's just too bad that the ideas emerging from that line of thinking are so easily focused inward towards the individual and then exploited by big corporations, resulting in utterly tone deaf things like this:

Wtf is that?

Lockheed Martin is one of NYC Pride's corporate sponsors.

Gotcha, of course. Sad.

My two cents. The majority of people are far too desensitized and slow, as proven by this thread, to fully grasp how rooted in ideology their lives are. Either that or power is far too removed from them to actually do anything about the status quo or prevent disaster as it's happening.

In this case, is it disgusting? Of course, but then who do we cast the blame to? The corporate sponsor for doing what they do or the event organizer for basically selling out? These things are complicated and will take time. Capitalism ed everything up.

Edit: All of this without taking into consideration the fact that it might be too late already anyways.

Are you really into socialism? Probably not, says USA Today (and The Economist).

It's funny that Bernie Bros convinced so many people they're something they're really not. It's like Paul Ryan managed to trick Republicans into saying they're Fascists because they're not Socialists :p

Damnit Lira, I just complimented you. off with this Venezuela propaganda.

Sorry, I just couldn't help myself, it was an interesting read :p

Those op-ed's are trash, dude. These yuppies become lawyers, "journalists", writers and they think they know anything about anything. Often at best there's hardly any real insight beyond the obvious with these articles, and at their worse they're riddled with distortions. A silent retreat to india would do them all some good. Facts only, please.

Seen this though?

I never thought Bolsonaro would be able to get this much bad publicity (as I don't think he's worthy of much attention), but here we are. I'm afraid he'll try to go ful Trump and use it to his advantage though :(

wotyzoid
Yeah my cousin posted that. What about the people who think it's fake news, did you see any of that? Wtf is happening to my mother's land? Bolsobosta.
