It's more like idiots like you think that a comparatively new invention of communism will somehow overthrow the earliest and most basic societal instincts to exchange something of worth for something else.
I love the romantic notion but you'll go to your deathbed still confounded as to communism didn't catch on, ignoring the fact that every single time it has been tried in earnest, it;s failed miserably and ended but with a deeply hierarchical system and concentration of power often worse than any capitalist model you can point to (maybe with exception to the church). |

Communism has existed ever since the birth of class order and will always exist as long as man is divided into class. You can't do anything about it. It is the process in itself. Nice try, though, I'll give you some of this fire too if you want it.

Communism will exist long after I'm dead and has existed long before Mr. Marx better described it.
I know you guys must get annoyed with my antics but there is only really two, maybe three people here who can truly get to me and humiliate me, but fortunately for me they're really good people and not losers. You guys should pick your battles more wisely. |

as stated, i have always supported liberal capitalism. marxism is a really interesting topic of discussion once you get into the nitty-gritty and beyond the eye-roll-inducing cliches spouted by socialists. however, it has conceptual and practical holes so wide you could fit both Frenchie's arse-cheeks with room to spare.
assuming you mature as you get older you might come to realise that one doesn't have to view a subject like politics or economics in an inflexible, binary manner that you have to crowbar (thanks system-j) into or onto every tangentially-related topic. it is perfectly OK to rationalise many competing isms and be convinced by different ideas even if they're supposedly from the enemy ism.
so no, i couldn't have "given up" because there was nothing there to begin with. at no stage did i believe that communism was a viable alternative that could or would fix all/most of capitalism's ills, and thus far we have zero examples to dispute that.

ha, the only one here complaining all the time about big bad society is you; not sure how that makes everyone else broken. i am unsure to what you refer re my privilege, but if you mean as a white male in an advanced liberal democracy then of course i do. it's funny though that those who suffer most on the planet today do so not because of too much capitalism, but too little.

since the manifesto was published there's been 170 years of "inevitability". you should consider protesting about the inevitability of our sun dying and possibly engulfing earth. won't someone think of the workers!?
