Well I love most of it, especially Reachers of Civilization – the last four notes of the main progression in the bassline and lead are without a doubt some of the most memorable parts of dance music to me – but there's an abundance of vocals in many of the individual tracks that they could've done without, in my opinion.

Well , I can't disagree with that. Spot on, really

I still love ISOS 1, ISOS 3, and ISOS 4.

I like them all from 1 to 5, to some extent. I have physical copies of even 6 and 7, which both have a couple of tracks I liked, but that's definitely when I stopped with the series. Just checked Spotify and it's going at 15 or something.

ISOS is how it all started 10/11 years ago for me. I was a big fan of 6 and 7 at the time (when I entered the scene). ISOS 1 is the best obv.

The story of how a rube like me ever even came to hear anything akin to trance is another story though. On the dancefloor I've probably danced to trance (is there a way I can make that sound more awkward?) less than a hundred times, and those times are thanks to Finnish DJs like Orkidea, Milla Lehto, etc. who toured Finland to some extent even though there was little for them to acquire from those gigs other than a few bucks and, quite probably, a good laugh.

Most of my memories involving music like this are from the backseat of a friend's car driving around my hometown, blasting these tunes while we're all drinking starters before entering clubs that mostly played 90s Eurodance (which I'm a big fan of also, obviously).

My later (and maybe more "proper") club experiences are much more centered around drum and bass and neurofunk. That music's a bunch of fun too, but there's just something in trantz (and a bunch of techno I guess) that gets me. I have exactly one track I've had the need to ID from a night around those times, and I don't know if it fits either the d'n'b or neurofunk genres in any way, but I've drunkenly tried syncing my movements to this track more than with any other track of the sort:

I very much like many kinds drum and bass, but for some reason, I've never let go of the mentality that it's all a bit disposable to me.

I was 9 when it started for me (, I started hanging with the homies at 5). Some years deep I was riding shotgun while my "fiend" was driving with this girl in his lap.

My first music memory was:

You wouldn't believe what we/I did that night. ed up. What can I say, my mom and dad neglected me.

Damn. ISOS is the best.
