That was fun as hell to watch. Takes me back to sitting around getting stoned with my roommates, watching them play clan matches on a Friday night. Good times.

Lol. Not clan matches, but def enjoyed playing and watching many hours of vids with the dudes back in the day.

I was never good enough to play any clan matches, but a couple of my friends/roommates were. They were also hellacious player of the Team Fortress Classic mod to Half Life. In fact, that's how I used to know if they were home on the weekends. They lived in this old rusted out single-wide trailer you could throw a cat through. It was off the road a good bit, and at the top of a hill. Sometimes you had to have 4x4 to get up there. Anywho, as soon as I pulled up, if you could hear the timer dinging on the concussion grenades followed by the bass rumble from the explosion, they were home and playing a match. No conc. grenade sounds, you were smoking up alone.

Starting to believe you are an alt. Or should write short stories. :stongue:

LOL, no alt. OG me since 2006, baby. All stories are also true, except when they are not (see yesterday's TheRapist story).

Okay, moar short story time: same ty single-wide trailer, and one of the OG gamers that lived there. He had a GMC Jimmy (hat tip to Jay) with Super Swamper mud tires. Damn thing would go nearly anywhere. Well, he had been MIA for a few days, and I could not track the er down (no cell phones then, and I still don't own one). I finally just drove up there to see if he was, in fact alive. I pulled up and noticed a huge, deep set of ruts in the front yard (which was really a steep ass hill). The ruts ran all the way from the bottom of the yard/hill to the top, then just stopped. When I pulled around back where the door was, there was also mud on the outside of the door...and then the inside, too. I knocked, but no answer. I turned the knob, and it was unlocked, which was not unusual. I yelled inside...no answer, but lights were on. I walked back to the "computer room" and found the home owner/gamer guy passed out in a big ass leather chair he used for his PC/gaming chair. He had an almost empty bottle of beer in one hand, and an almost finished bowl of cereal and milk in the other. He was sound asleep.

A couple of days later, the story emerged: he had been getting free 80mg Oxies from a guy with "stomach cancer" (guy is still alive, cancer free and always was). So he'd been up tweaking on those for days...then to come down started smoking, drinking, and eating ye olde purple footballs. He came home and something was acting up on the Jimmy, so in a fit of Oxy/Xanax rage, he had put the Jimmy in 4 low and tore the yard all to hell, and slung mud onto the inside and outside of the door, gone inside with the munchies and had a beer and some cereal, then finally just passed out. I'm kind of surprised he lived.

Doesn't look like a Friday here... :)

Anyways, three weeks vacation! Not leaving the country.
Son got 11 today and my dad taught him to drive a Iseki tractor to mow a pasture near his house. That will keep him from Fortnite now and then :)

I am going with "years", but I could use 11 inches, myself.

Ted Promo in 3, 2, 1...

I'm kinda hoping it involves cutting a switch.

The paternal grandmother used to cut a switch for us little hellions back in the day. In fact, I can look out the windows in here right now and see some of the very trees she selected from.

I used to troll a parenting group by telling them my wife kept a bent coat-hanger in her purse to hit my son's knuckles with when he acted like a dick in public. About 2 pounds of pressure is just enough for a welt and not enough to break skin.My wife is such an expert, she can pull it off without bystanders seeing. It is important to keep your problems in the family. He sometimes has trouble writing his homework afterwards but it's important to teach limits in a way that scars for a day or 2, but not for life. It went over swimmingly.
